With Dhaka University deciding to hold final-year exams for honours and master's programmes from December 26 amid the Covid pandemic, the clamour for reopening the dormitories has been growing in the wake of the varsity authorities ruling out such a move.

Dhaka University teachers and students on Sunday observed the Black Day’ to recall  a crackdown by the then military-backed caretaker government between August 20 and 23, 2007.
