Another kidnapped student rescued in Cox’s Bazar, 2 more Rohingyas held
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)members have recued another student who was kidnapped along with 3 others from Ramu upazila in Cox's Bazar on Tuesday.
Mizanur Rahman, 17 , son of Faridul Alam of Mongolpara area in Pechar Dwip, was rescued from a hill adjacent to Shalban at Nayapara in Teknaf.
With Mizanur, all the four kidnapped students have been rescued.
Besides, two Rohingyas- Jahangir, 25, and Jabed, 30- were detained, said Lieutenant Colonel Khairul Islam, commander of Rab-15.
Earlier on Friday evening, abducted Mohammad Kaysar , Mizanur Rahman Nayan, and Zahedul Islam were rescued from the hilly areas adjacent to Shalban in Teknaf upazila in separate drives of the Rab and Armed Police Battalion (APBn), said Rab-15 in a press briefing held Saturday noon.

So far, nine Rohingyas were detained in connection with the kidnapping, said the Rab-15 commander.
Three of the other detainees were identified as Nur Salam, 50, Ranjan Bibi and Saddam Mia of Mochni Para in Rohingya Camp H-4 block.
Detained Mohammad Ibrahim and Jabed were staff of Batighar resort in Pechar Dwip and they developed friendship with the victims two months before the incident, according to Rab.
On December 7, lured by Ibrahim the four students left home for visiting Saint Martin’s Island and spent the night at a hotel near Teknaf police station.
The day next, Ibrahim took the students to Rohingya camp-24 in Teknaf to visit a relative and handed over them to Rohingya miscreants .

The students were taken to deep forest areas in Noapara and Shalban adjoining the Rohingya camps and tortured by the kidnappers, said Khairul Islam, commander of Rab-15.
The students were forced to call their family members from their cell phones and demand a total of Tk 20 lakh as ransom money, he said.
Getting murder threat from the kidnappers, victims’ families lodged complaints with Teknaf police station and CPC-2 Whaikong camp of Rab-15.

5 Rohingyas held with arms and drugs in Ukhia
Five Rohingyas were arrested Sunday with arms and drugs during a joint operation by the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) and Ukhia Police in Cox's Bazar’s Ukhia Rohingya camp.
The arrestees were listed criminal Nur Kalam, under-warranted accused Fayez and Md Abul Kalam; Osman and Akter Hossain.

Md Naimul Haque, 14-APBN captain said APBN and Ukhia police conducted a joint operation around 3:30 pm on Sunday. During the operation, five Rohingyas were arrested and a locally made shooter-gun, one round of ammunition and 122 pieces of yaba were seized from them.

According to APBn sources, the arrestees were involved in various crimes including intimidation, extortion and kidnapping of ordinary Rohingyas in the camp area.

6 Rohingyas held from refugee camps
Armed Police Battalion (APBN) on Friday held six Rohingyas accused in different cases from the refugee camps in Ukhia and Teknaf.
The arrestees were Abdul Mannan and Enayetullah from Madhuchhara camp; Taher from Irani hill; Nazim Uddin and Nur Bashar from Lambasia camp; Usman from Kutupalongwas.

Captain of the 14th Armed Police Battalion and in-charge of the Ukhia Rohingya camp, superintendent of police Naimul Haque, said the detainees were involved in various crimes including extortion, kidnapping, robbery, murder cases in the Rohingya camp area.

He said that the arrestees were handed over to Ukhia police station to take necessary legal action.
