Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus Review: A Feature-Packed Budget-friendly Contender
Chinese brand Infinix Mobile has gained a reputation for delivering value-for-money smartphones. 50 Pro+, released in November 2024, is another addition to its Hot series focusing on budget-friendly phones with attractive features. Let’s dive into the key features, pros, cons, and pricing of the Infinix 50 Pro Plus in Bangladesh.
Key Specs of the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus
.
Design and Build Quality
The Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ boasts a sleek and lightweight design. Measuring 164.1 mm by 74.4 mm by 6.8 mm and weighing only 162 g, it feels comfortable to hold, thanks to its slim profile. The glass front, plastic back, and plastic frame contribute to its durability while maintaining affordability.
The IP54 rating adds dust and splash resistance which is an attractive feature considering its price range.

The available colour options—Sleek Black, Titanium Grey, and Dreamy Purple—offer something for every taste. Compared to its higher-priced sibling, the Infinix Note 40 Pro+, which features a more premium eco-leather back, the Hot 50 Pro+ focuses on simplicity and functionality.
Display Quality
The 6.78-inch AMOLED display on the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ aims to deliver an immersive experience with 1B colours, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. This ensures vibrant visuals with excellent contrast, whether you are streaming videos or scrolling through social media. The Corning Gorilla Glass provides durability against everyday wear and tear.
Compared to the Infinix Note 40 Pro+, which has a similar-sized AMOLED display but with slightly better HDR support, the Hot 50 Pro+ holds its ground by offering superior brightness.

However, the similarly priced competitor Honor X7c falls short with its 720p IPS LCD, making the Hot 50 Pro+ the better choice for display enthusiasts. On the other hand, a slightly higher-priced rival, realme Narzo 70 Turbo edges out with its HDR support and 2000-nit peak brightness, which enhances the viewing experience under direct sunlight.
Camera Performance
The Hot 50 Pro+ features a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, and an unspecified third lens, complemented by a dual-LED flash. The camera excels in well-lit environments, delivering sharp and detailed photos. However, low-light performance could use some improvement, as noise becomes evident in darker settings. Its rear sensor’s maximum video shooting capacity is 1440p at 30fps which matches the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ and outperforms the Honor X7c. The 13 MP front camera on the Hot 50 Pro+ offers standard service for selfies, though its video recording capacity remains unspecified.
However, the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ stands out with its 108 MP primary sensor with OIS, delivering superior clarity and stability, especially in challenging lighting. The Honor X7c also has a 108 MP camera, but it lacks advanced features like OIS, which slightly diminishes its appeal. Meanwhile, the realme Narzo 70 Turbo takes a different route with a 50 MP main sensor but offers 4K video recording and gyro-EIS, making it a strong contender for video creators. And, the 32 MP front camera on the Note 40 Pro+ offers 1440p of maximum video recording capacity.

Processor Performance
At the heart of the Hot 50 Pro+ lies the MediaTek Helio G100 processor, built on a 6 nm process. It features an octa-core CPU with 2 high-performance Cortex-A76 cores and 6 efficiency-focused Cortex-A55 cores. While it is efficient and capable of handling everyday tasks and moderate multitasking with ease, it is not the most powerful chipset in its class.
The Note 40 Pro+, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 6nm, delivers better performance, particularly in handling resource-intensive applications and high-end gaming. The realme Narzo 70 Turbo goes a step further with its Dimensity 7300 Energy 4nm chipset, which offers faster speeds and better energy efficiency, making it a preferred choice for power users. The Honor X7c, running on the Snapdragon 685 6nm provides almost similar performance.
Gaming Performance
The Hot 50 Pro+ handles games like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile at medium settings with smooth frame rates. It is not a gaming powerhouse but is sufficient for casual gaming enthusiasts. Extended gaming sessions show minimal overheating, thanks to efficient thermal management.

In contrast, the Note 40 Pro+ and Narzo 70 Turbo outperform the Hot 50 Pro+ in gaming due to their more powerful GPUs and higher-performing CPUs. Both phones can handle more demanding games like Genshin Impact at higher settings without significant frame drops. The Honor X7c falls behind, struggling with intensive gaming due to its mid-tier Snapdragon chipset.
Battery Life
The 5000 mAh battery on the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ is a standout feature, easily lasting a full day of moderate to heavy use. The 33W fast charging brings the battery to 50% in just 26 minutes, which is decent but not groundbreaking.
The Note 40 Pro+, despite having a smaller 4600 mAh battery, compensates with 100W fast charging, enabling a 50% charge in just 12 minutes. The realme Narzo 70 Turbo, with a similar 5000 mAh battery, offers faster 45W charging, making it a better choice for users prioritizing quick top-ups. The Honor X7c comes with a larger 5200-6000 mAh battery (depending on the market), providing exceptional endurance but slower 35W charging, which might frustrate impatient users.

The 10W reverse wired charging and Bypass charging option make the Infinix Hot 50 Pro+ an attractive package for budget-conscious users. However, realme Narzo 70 Turbo and Honor X7c lack the reverse wired charging facility.
Software and User Interface
Running on Android 14 with XOS 14.5, the Hot 50 Pro+ offers a clean and intuitive user interface. The system includes customizable features, themes, and smooth animations, though occasional bloatware might annoy some users.
Compared to the Note 40 Pro+, which also runs XOS but offers more extended software updates, the Hot 50 Pro+ may fall behind in longevity. Honor X7c, with its MagicOS 8, and the Realme Narzo 70 Turbo, with Realme UI 5.0, provide equally polished experiences but cater to different aesthetic preferences. The Realme UI stands out for gamers with performance optimizations, while MagicOS focuses on a seamless ecosystem for Honor device users.

Storage Options
The Hot 50 Pro+ provides storage options of 128GB or 256GB, paired with 8GB of RAM, and supports expansion via a microSD card slot. This makes it a versatile option for users who need more space for photos, videos, or apps.
The Note 40 Pro+ lacks expandable storage but compensates with higher internal storage configurations of 256GB and 512 GB. Similarly, the realme Narzo 70 Turbo offers up to 256GB of internal storage with UFS 3.1, which is faster than the UFS 2.2 on the Hot 50 Pro+. The Honor X7c has unspecified microSD support, making it less transparent in terms of storage flexibility.
Pros and Cons of Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus
.
Pros
- 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate- 5000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging- Expandable storage with a dedicated microSD slot- Android 14 interface with XOS 14.5 customizations- Reverse wired charging facility.
Read more: Honor X7c Review: A Budget-friendly Powerhouse for Everyday Use
Cons
- Low-light camera performance could be better- Helio G100 processor lags behind competitors in power- No 5G support- Slight frame drops in demanding games- Unspecified video recording capacity of front sensor- Lacks advanced features like wireless charging- Pre-installed bloatware may annoy some users.
Price of Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus
The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus (8/256GB) is priced at around BDT 23,999. However, the price is subject to change.
Conclusion
The Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus comes with impressive features like a standard display, lightweight body, solid battery life, reverse wired changing, water/dust resistance, etc.
However, it lacks 5G support and struggles with demanding tasks. It is not suited for heavy gamers or those needing flagship-level features. If you are looking for a high-performance smartphone in gaming and photography, check out the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ and realme Narzo 70 Turbo.

Infinix Note 40 Pro Review: A Mid-Range Phone with 108P sensor, MagSafe Charging
Infinix has consistently pushed its innovation in the budget and mid-range segment for quite some time now. Recently, the brand received the innovation award for its new battery tech at CES 2024. After considerable hype, Infinix officially launched the Infinix Note 40 Pro in the Bangladeshi market on 19th March 2024. Here’s our detailed take on the device.
Key Specifications of Infinix Note 40 Pro
Design and Build Quality: A Premium Look and Feel
Infinix has been consistent with the design language of the Note series. It is sleek, and innovative and has a premium look and feel. The premium feel is alleviated by the Magsafe-like case on the box.
The smartphone features a chamfered edge on the frame complemented by a vegan leather back. The curved front display also smoothly blends into the frame to create a unified slim footprint. The traditional flashlight has been replaced with AI-powered Active Halo. It’s like a small recreation of the glyph interface seen on the Nothing Phone.
Dimension-wise the Note 40 Pro comes in at 164.3 mm by 74.5 mm by 8.1 mm with either 190 g (leather back) or 196 g of weight. The front panel is symmetrical with a slight bezel at the bottom and top. The power button and volume rockers are placed on the right side.
The Note 40 Pro is also IP54 rated meaning it can easily withstand a light splash.

The Display: Sheer Perfection from Infinix
Infinix Note 40 Pro’s display features a 6.78-inch 3D curved LTPS AMOLED panel with 1B colors and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Its display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
The typical brightness of the panel is around 550 nits and the HBM clocks out at 1300 nits. In addition to the usual features, the display also incorporates PWM dimming for enhanced view in the low light.
The symmetrical outlay allows for a sizeable 93.8% screen-to-body ratio. The display sports an FHD+ resolution of 1080 by 2436 pixels with 393 ppi density. Additionally, users will be getting DCI-P3 wide color gamut support. The panel feels crisp and sharp with great contrast and viewing angles making it perfect for media consumption.

The Camera: Leaves More to be Desired
Note 40 Pro’s primary sensor is a 108 MP one (SK5HM2SP03-FGX9). The bizarre name suggests that it is sourced from Samsung with 1/1.67 inch sensor length and f/1.75 aperture. There’s also OIS to complement stability. The other two sensors are 2 MP ones.
The front features a 32 MP selfie shooter that can shoot 1080-pixel videos at 30 fps.
Fortunately, the main camera does a decent job. Pictures came out detailed with good dynamic range. Images were slightly on the warmer side while shooting in auto mode. Pictures taken in low light weren’t all that great. The night mode is the saving grace considering the noise and grains.
Users can shoot up to 1440P footage at 30 fps from the back camera. The videos came out fairly decent thanks to the OIS onboard.

Processor and Performance: Benchmarks Fall Short of the Price
The processor on the Note 40 Pro is Helio G99 Ultimate. There’s another global version that comes with a Mediatek Dimensity 7020 processor. But Bangladeshi users will be getting the G99 Ultimate one. It’s an octa-core processor with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
Helio G99 Ultimate seems a letdown in a mid-range phone. Especially, when competitors like Redmi 14C and Tecno Spark 20 Pro are providing the slightly old G99 at a much lower price point. The miniscule upgrade brought forth by the Ultimate simply doesn’t justify the price.
But beyond the benchmarks and prices, the Note 40 Pro would suffice for most users. 3D titles like Asphalt 9 and PUBG ran smoothly on medium settings. The device did get heated a bit but that’s expected from a mid-range processor.
Overall the processor won’t blow you away with its numbers. But for casual use and moderate gaming, it will be enough.

Software: A Refreshing Take From XOS
The Note 40 Pro comes with XOS 14 based on Android 14. It seems like Infinix has finally listened to its users as the number of bloatware has significantly decreased. The center punch-hole camera now acts as a dynamic island which is quite useful for glance notifications and charging indicators. Infinix has also announced that the Note 40 Pro will receive two years of software updates.
Battery and Charge Time
Now onto the exciting bit. Infinix has decided to introduce its own MagSafe charging with the Note 40 Pro which they call MagCharge. It is a power bank that comes with the retail box. It can be magnetically attached to the included cover (MagKit) and recharge the device to around 50% on a single charge. It also doubles as a wireless charger when hooked with the included power brick.
The 5000 mAh battery can be wire-charged by the 70W included charging brick. The Magcharge when connected to the brick can charge at 20W and up to 7.5W while working as a power bank. Infinix also included their new X1 chip for superior charging optimization to safeguard the battery.

Top Smartphones Being Released in April 2024: A Mix of Flagship, Midrange and Budget Options
After an exciting March release schedule, smartphone enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to in April as well. March saw most of the releases at MWC. The story would be more or less the same in April as well as Chinese releases in the previous months will have their global debut in April. With that said, here’s a list of the most anticipated smartphones to be released in April 2024.
Most Hyped Smartphones Releasing This April
OnePlus Nord CE4
The Nord CE from OnePlus has been the budget lineup of the brand for several years now. The Nord CE phones bring exceptional value for money like an ode to OnePlus’s early days.
We already have official renders of the new Nord CE4 on OnePlus India’s official website. The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with 1240 by 2772 resolution, 451 ppi density, 120 Hz refresh rate, and HDR 10+ support.

We don’t have an exact release date as of yet, but based on rumors, it is expected to be sometime in mid-April.
OnePlus Nord 4
Another smartphone from OnePlus that’s expected to hit the international market is the OnePlus Nord 4. The Nord 4 will be the global variant of the already announced OnePlus Ace 3V.
By all accounts, the Nord 4 will share a lot of similarities with the CE4. But the former will have certain features to justify its higher price.

Unlike the CE4, the Nord 4 will come with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor. It will also have IP65 water and dust resistance. The Nord 4 will unfortunately miss out on the extendable storage option. The rest of the configuration is expected to be the same as of now.
Samsung Galaxy M15
Samsung is gearing up with their budget and mid-range lineup in April. The first of the M series smartphones to hit the market would be the budget Galaxy M15.

The expected release date of the Galaxy M15 is sometime in mid-April.
Samsung Galaxy M55
There’s a hard rumor going around about the new Galaxy M55. The initial idea that the M55 would mirror the A55 has been quelled thanks to a series of new leaks.
The M55 will feature a 6.7-inch screen with Super AMOLED tech onboard. That means a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 1000 nits HBM is on the cards.

The Exynos 1480 found on the A55 would be replaced by a rather old Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 on the M55. The storage options will be either 128 GB or 256 GB with an extension of up to 1 TB.
The camera remains more or less the same with reduced ultrawide and macro capabilities and an enhanced selfie camera compared to the A55.
The Galaxy M55 will go live sometime in late April.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro
Motorola is gearing up with its flagship release of the year, the Edge 50 Pro.
The smartphone is expected to be powered by the new Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 processor. It’s an underclocked version of this year’s flagship 8 Gen 3. The smartphone is absolutely stacked in terms of storage as users will be getting options of up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

The official India launch date of the Edge 50 Pro is set on 3rd April.
realme GT 5 Pro

The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 4nm processor with storage options going up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB internal.

Tecno Pova 6 Pro
And the last one on the list is the Tecno Pova 6 Pro slated to launch in mid-April. The news comes after the device was officially announced in February this year.

Final Words
April 2024 is lined up with a lot of exciting smartphone releases ranging from flagships to mid-range to budget-friendly segments. Most of the releases have already been launched in the Chinese market as it always gets the exclusive first release from most local brands. Nonetheless, users will be getting a lot of choices in terms of price and performance match.

Both phones contain themselves in a 168.6 mm by 76.6 mm by 8.3 mm body that features a plastic frame and a plastic back, while using a glass on the front. It is not quite bulky, as users will feel a weight of 196g, also not quite slander, on their hand while carrying the phone without struggling to handle or maneuver it.
The phone houses a massive camera module, reasonably inspired by the minimalism of the iPhone cameras, featuring three distinct lenses along with an LED flash. A subtle signature of Infinix branding is placed on the lower edge of the backing.

Users will find all necessary buttons and ports where suitable. As usual, the power button and the volume rocker are on the right, and a SIM tray is on the left. The primary microphone, a 3.5mm audio jack, and the USB-C port with a speaker grille are placed at the bottom. The top gets a secondary microphone.
The selfie camera takes place in a punch hole on the top of the display, which is surrounded by thin chin and chunky bezels The overall design features nothing extraordinary.
Display
The front panel of the Infinix HOT 40 boasts a 6.78-inch FHD+ IPS LCD. It supports a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and offers a resolution of 2460 by 1080 pixels. Noteworthy features include Eye Care mode, which maintains a warm screen tone to reduce eye strain during prolonged usage, and the Inadvertently Mode, designed to prevent accidental taps when the phone is stowed away.
Although the screen may not be as bright as some competitors, it remains acceptable for outdoor use. What it lacks in brightness, it compensates for with accurate and vivid colors. Additionally, the contrast remains consistent, ensuring a satisfying viewing experience from any angle.
Cameras
The back panel of the Infinix HOT 40 houses a triple camera setup, led by a 50MP main sensor featuring autofocus and an f/1.6 aperture. This primary sensor is complemented by a 2MP macro lens and a 0.08MP auxiliary lens. For selfies, there's a 32MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The 50MP rear camera captures photos with warm tones and decent detail, although colors may appear somewhat muted even under good lighting conditions. In low-light environments, image quality remains satisfactory but with reduced sharpness and contrast, typical for an entry-level smartphone. However, considering most users will likely share photos on social media, the quality should suffice.
The 32MP selfie camera captures adequate details, especially with the Beauty mode enhancing shots for social media sharing. Portrait mode effectively separates subjects from backgrounds, ensuring pleasing results.
The Super Night mode is a noteworthy feature, offering interesting shots with recovered details in low-light situations. However, caution is advised in tricky lighting scenarios to prevent overexposure.

The Infinix HOT 40 runs on a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and a spacious 128GB to 256GB storage capacity. Users also have the option to expand RAM with an additional 8GB of virtual RAM for demanding tasks.
This 12-nm chipset is favored for its efficient cores and respectable performance in both entry-level and mid-range smartphones. The graphic unit sports a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

While playing extensive sessions of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the gameplay remained smooth with minimal interruptions. However, more graphically demanding games like Genshin Impact, while playable on lower graphics settings, may struggle with rendering complex gameplay effects.
The device excels in multimedia consumption, serving as a reliable platform for streaming shows from various apps. Notably, the inclusion of stereo speakers, though not delivering top-tier sound quality, enhances the overall audio experience with a balance of bass and treble.
In benchmark tests, the Infinix HOT 40 achieved respectable scores, reaching 275987 in the Antutu test, 430 for single-core and 1446 for multi-core scores in Geekbench 6 CPU benchmarking, and 575 in OpenCL and 1118 in Vulkan benchmark tests for GPU performance.

Notably, the display stands out with a surprisingly high 90Hz refresh rate, a significant improvement from the 60Hz refresh rate on its predecessor, the Infinix Smart 7. This enhanced refresh rate contributes to a smoother and more responsive user experience, which is particularly beneficial for tasks like scrolling and navigating through applications.

While the display may not be suitable for high-end gaming due to the device’s low-end processor and the Android 13 Edition, casual games like Candy Crush and potentially Free Fire can run at a decent frame rate. It’s worth noting that major software updates may be limited, but Infinix promises at least one year of security updates.
Additionally, the Smart 8 introduces a unique feature – the Magic Ring, incorporated into the 6.6-inch Interactive Punch-Hole Screen. This Magic Ring offers real-time information about charging status and voice calls, enhancing the overall user interface and adding a touch of innovation to the device.

The dual camera setup incorporates features such as Ring-LED flash, HDR, and panorama mode. Notably, the LED flash is ring-shaped, adding a unique visual element to the device.
The main camera is capable of recording videos at 1080p resolution with a frame rate of 30 frames per second, providing users with decent video recording capabilities.

On the front, the Smart 8 sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
While the camera system performs well under sufficient lighting conditions, capturing decent photos, the quality may suffer in indoor or low-light settings. Despite this, the Infinix Smart 8 offers a functional camera setup suitable for everyday photography and video recording needs.
Performance and Memory
The Infinix Smart 8 is powered by the UniSoC T606 chipset, a budget-friendly 12-nanometer processor. Featuring an octa-core configuration with two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, this chipset is designed for efficiency rather than high-end performance.
Infinix’s advanced RAM extension technology effectively doubles the initial 4GB RAM capacity, elevating it to an impressive 8GB. This enhancement significantly enhances the user experience, making activities like watching movies, listening to music, and engaging in daily tasks more enjoyable. The augmented RAM not only facilitates quicker booting but also enables the seamless operation of multiple applications simultaneously.

Infinix Note 30 5G Review: Know the Pros and Cons
The Note series from Infinix has been their go-to affordable option that blends price and performance. The previous releases like Note 10 and Note 12 were highly popular in the budget-friendly phone range. Infinix launched Note 30 5G on 22nd May 2023. Now the question arises, can Note 30 hold the legacy? Let’s look at the main features of the Infinix Note 30 5G variant and find out whether it lives up to the hype.
Key Specifications of the Infinix Note 30 5G
Design and Build Quality
An interesting thing about the Note series is that the design goes through minimal changes in each iteration. Most of the changes take place on the design of the camera housing or the back with the device retaining most of its other design elements.
The Note 30 5G too walks the same route with a boxy design and a large rectangular camera housing on the back. Dimension-wise, the device comes in at 168.5 mm by 76.5 mm by 8.5 mm with 205 g weight.
Read more: Xiaomi 13T Pro Review: The flagship killer is back
The device has a plastic frame with either glass or leather back depending on the color variant. The Magic Black and Interstellar Blue variants come in glass whereas the Sunset Gold has a tan leather finish on the back.
Coming to the front, there is a noticeable chin on the bottom with a punch-hole camera cut out. Even for a budget-friendly smartphone, the large chin stands out like a sore thumb. It might be the only design drawback of the Note 30 5G.
The power button and the volume rocker are placed on the right side of the smartphone. The Note 30 5G has stuck with the side-mounted fingerprint scanner placed on the power button. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is also present on the device which will be a pleasant feature for many. There is also a dedicated micro SDXC slot so storage concerns will not be an issue.

The Display
The display on the Note 30 5G is a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution. The display holds 1080 by 2460 pixels at 396 ppi. Even though it’s an LCD panel, several features make it stand out from contemporary displays. Like the choice of 120 Hz refresh rate and 580 nits of peak brightness. While it’s not the brightest display out there, it is perfectly legible under direct sunlight.
The display also showed good contrast in the test. There were not any color shifts here and there and the blacks looked deep compared to the usual washed-out appearance. Out of the box, the color calibration seemed to be on the warmer side but it can be changed from the display settings as per the user’s preference.
The only drawback here is the design of the front. The large chin at the bottom takes up a significant front real estate. It accounts for an 84.7% screen-to-body ratio which isn’t really up to the 2023 design standards.

The Camera
The Infinix Note 30 5G has a triple camera setup beautifully positioned on the raised platform at the back. While on paper, the smartphone has a triple camera, all of the work is essentially done by the 108 MP main sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 26mm focal length, and 1/1.67" sensor size. The two supporting sensors are a 2 MP depth sensor and a QVGA sensor.
QVGA sensors are quite obsolete in 2023 as they essentially have no specific functionality. It is almost as if Infinix included them for the sake of having a triple-camera marketing tagline.
Coming back to the performance of the main sensor, the results were satisfactory considering the price. The high megapixel count assists in capturing more details than before. However, the end product is still pixel-binned 12 MP pictures unless you are shooting at 108 MP raw. Though the processing on the raw images was a bit off, they had better details compared to the pixel-binned images.
Read more: Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Review: What are the key upgrades?
The pictures came out really well under direct sunlight. The photos had a good contrast with a decent dynamic range. The subjects were consistently in focus and the pictures produced sharp details. Sometimes, the photos of objects or nature may look a bit over processed but the color pop looks pleasing to the eye.
The picture quality, however, doesn’t hold in the low light or artificial lighting. Images still look over-processed and sometimes they also look overexposed in certain low-light conditions. The front camera has a generic 16 MP shooter. There’s nothing fancy about it and it produces passable results.
The videography on the Note 30 5G is rated to be 1440p at 30fps by the main shooter, while 1080p at either 30 or 60fps footage can be captured by the selfie sensor.
Read more: Symphony Helio 80 Review: Is the hype justified?
The OS has an interesting feature called Dual View Recording which allows recording on both the front and back camera at the same time. However, the lack of OIS and EIS is something that affects the video quality to a certain extent.
To sum things up, the camera is a solid performer in terms of pictures. But the videography still has a long road to tread.
Processor and Performance
The Note 30 5G is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 6080 based on the 6 Nm architecture. Being an entry-level processor, the 6 Nm architecture helps a lot in terms of power-efficient output. The processor has a chip design of 2x2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
Read more: vivo V29 5G Review: Is it a balanced camera phone?
In terms of performance, the spec resonates in use. The device performed well in gaming. Tests were run with PUBG, Asphalt 9, COD, and Genshin Impact. While it can hardly run on max graphics settings, the device was able to run in mid settings. The device had a uniform output with no noticeable frame drops. It heated up a bit but didn’t trigger rapid battery loss or thermal throttling. In day-to-day use, the device performed smoothly. Combining that with a 120 Hz refresh rate, the performance felt no less than a flagship-grade smartphone.
The Note 30 5G is running on Android 13 with XOS 13 skin on top of it. The XOS is still a bloatware-filled mess for anyone coming from a stock Android experience. But previous users of Infinix should feel right at home.
Battery and Charge Time
The Infinix Note 30 5G has a 5000 mAh battery on board with 45W fast charging. The device also has a new feature called bypass charging which shifts 30% of the power directly to the motherboard. It helps to ensure the battery health by optimizing the usage.

Pros and Cons of Infinix Note 30 5G
Pros:
- Interesting design and elements
- Great performance
- Fast charging
- Dual stereo speaker
- Bright and crisp display
Cons:
- Videography lacks stability
- Bloatware.

Price of Infinix Note 30 5G
The Infinix Note 30 5G is available in two variants – 4/128 GB and the 8/256 GB variant. The prices of the variants are 13,999 and 14,699 INR respectively. The price roughly translates to 18,461 and 19,384 BDT respectively (1 INR = 1.32 BDT). However, the price can differ once it becomes officially available in Bangladesh.
Verdict
The Infinix Note 30 5G is a refreshing update compared to last year’s Note 12 5G. While the naming structure has no resemblance, the Note 30 can be considered as an incremental update to the Note 12. In terms of its strengths, the display, processor, and design would be the key selling points for the device.
But as always, there remains much to be desired from the camera system. The bloatware may disappoint some users.

To sum things up, the Note 30 5G can be a standard choice for day-to-day use. Those who are looking for a budget-friendly gaming phone can consider the Infinix Note 30 5G as it brings a good balance of price and performance.

Infinix Zero 30 5G Review: Mid Range Phone with ChatGPT Assistant Support
The Infinix Zero series of smartphones has been the perfect upper mid-range smartphone from the brand. The lineup offers premium design and cutting-edge hardware technologies. In September 2023, Infinix launched the Zero 30 5G in China as a direct successor to the Zero 20. So how does it fare with its competitors? And what sets it apart from the rest? Let’s find out the key specs, pros, cons and price of Infinix Zero 30 5G in Bangladesh.
Key Specifications of Infinix Zero 30 5G
Design and Build Quality
With each iteration of the Zero series, Infinix seems to outdo itself in terms of design, build quality, and the overall look and feel of the device. The Zero 30 features a 164.5 x 75 x 7.9 mm dimension with 185 gm of weight. The lightweight build is attributed to the plastic frame and the vegan leather back (Rome Green). The frame of the phone has been gold tinted on the Rome Green and the Golden Hour color variant which gives it a unique look. The other color variant of choice for the users would be the Fantasy Purple one.
The back camera housing has also been significantly expanded to make up a large rectangular slab on the back. The housing almost goes from edge to edge but not quite. For people with OCD, the unusual side positioning of such a large camera housing may seem out of place.
The front and back of the device are both protected by Gorilla Glass 5 (Fantasy Purple and Golden Hour). Additionally, the device is IP53 dust and splash-resistant.

Moving on to the ports and buttons, everything comes standard on the Zero 30. The Type C port, main speaker, and sim slot are located on the bottom with the power button and the volume rocker positioned at the right. The Zero 30 has an in-display fingerprint scanner for an added layer of security. Another great thing about the Zero 30 is the included stereo speaker which makes it an excellent device for music and media consumption.
The minimal yet premium design choices include the only subtle “zero” branding on the back. The Zero 30 looks much more premium than its sub-250 USD price tag and that’s a great thing for anyone looking for a stylish smartphone.
The Display
The display on the Zero 30 is a curved AMOLED panel with 1B colors, 144 Hz refresh rate, and 950 nits of peak brightness. However, the specs aren’t the first thing that the users would notice. The 6.78-inch display has an almost uniform bezel design on the front that takes the screen-to-body ratio to an unprecedented 90%.
Users would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between this panel and a flagship one thanks to the minimal curve and the symmetric bezel. The display has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 388 ppi density. Additionally, the display also supports Widevine L1 so users would be able to stream HD codec content directly from the streaming platforms.

The display can be manually set to either 60 Hz, 120 Hz, 144 Hz, or auto mode. However, setting 144 Hz as a constant would drastically reduce the battery life.
Overall, the display is easily the strongest suit of the Zero 30. It is bright, crisp, and fluid to the touch which easily makes it the best in its price class.
The Camera
There’s a triple camera setup on the Zero 30 with the main sensor being a 108 MP wide-angle shooter with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, and OIS. The supporting sensors are a 13 MP f/2.2 ultrawide shooter and a 2 MP depth sensor.
In a word, the high megapixel count doesn’t translate into higher photo quality. Pictures in the daylight looked decent with a decent amount of contrast and dynamic range. However, the shaded areas often appeared too dark or soft compared to the focus area. The green and reds were over-saturated which at times made it look artificial. The portrait mode performed decently but the edge detection near the hair seemed to be off at times. Other than that, the subject was well exposed with good details and sharpness.
Read more: Vivo V27 5G Review: Is it worth buying?
The camera however faltered in night and low light conditions. Pictures taken without the night mode had grains and noises with little to no exposure. The night mode made the situation a bit better but it wasn’t quite on par with other mid-range smartphones in this price range.
The Zero 30 has videography support of up to 4K at 30 and 60 fps. On paper, the main sensor has OIS support but it doesn’t trigger during 4K shooting. Whether it’s a software or hardware issue, remains to be seen. The 1080P at 30 or 60 fps videography has the OIS which produces passable results.
The front camera is a 50 MP f/2.5 sensor which Infinix is branding as their vlogging camera. Again, users would be able to shoot at up to 4K with the front camera but the output lacked stability and seemed to be on the choppier end.

Processor and Performance
The Infinix Zero 30 is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 8020 based on the 6 Nm architecture. The processor has an octa-core design with 4x2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 and Mali-G77 MC9 as GPU. In effect, the Dimensity 8020 is comparable with the Snapdragon 870 which makes it a great mid-range processor.
The performance of the chipset has also been on par with the benchmark standards. The processor scored 58738 on Antutu V10 and 3122 on GeekBench V6. In the test, the device could play all the leading 3D titles in the highest graphics settings with some frame drops here and there. At moderate settings, PUBG was able to support extreme frame rates which is a testament to the processor’s power.
However, the device also heated up quite fast. It wasn’t anything unbearable but the heat was noticeable. Another issue is with the UI itself. The XOS is still a bloatware-heavy OS with its ads and renditions. Thankfully, most of these bloatware can be uninstalled and the ads can be restricted.

A fun new addition is the onboard AI assistant on the Zero 30. It uses ChatGPT to answer any queries of the users which is a handy little feature on its own. Infinix has also announced one year of OS updates and two years of security updates which quite frankly is very disappointing.
Other than the slight issues with updates and OS, the Zero 30 is a solid performer that will give any device in its price range a run for its money.
Battery and Charge Time
The Infinix Zero 30 5G comes with a 5000 mAh battery on board. There’s a 68W wired charging support that can take the device from 0 to 80% in 30 minutes. With an auto-refresh rate, users can expect to get around 6 to 7 hours of SoT with this device.

Pros and Cons of Infinix Zero 30
Pros:
· 144 Hz Curved AMOLED Panel
· Premium design
· 68W fast charging

· Stereo speakers on board
Cons:
· Bloatware filled OS
· Subpar camera performance.

Price of Infinix Zero 30 5G
The price of Infinix Zero 30’s 12/256 GB version is around 24,999 INR or 33,000 BDT (1 INR = 1.32 BDT) in the Indian market. The device is yet to launch in Bangladesh. However, the official price of Infinix Zero 30 in Bangladesh may grossly differ once it becomes officially available.
Verdict
The Infinix Zero 5G brings a unique mix of design and performance which isn’t very common in this price range. The device has a premium look and feel to it which is complemented by the exceptional display, performance, and battery life.
On the flip side, the camera underperforms quite a bit which might be a deal breaker for many. If you can overlook the sub-par camera performance, then yes, the Infinix Zero 30 5G can be a great buy for anyone looking for a capable mid-range smartphone.

Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G Review: Is it a capable gaming phone?
Infinix is known for budget smartphones that bring good value for money for entry-level users. The brand has established its presence in the budget segment with the likes of its Hot and Note series. Recently Infinix announced their first GT smartphone, the GT 10 Pro on August 3, 2023 in India. Let’s take a look into Infinix's budget-friendly gaming smartphone GT 10 Pro to decide whether it is worth buying.
Key Specifications of Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G
Design and Build Quality
This is the first time Infinix used the GT branding on their smartphones. Though it's not a copyrighted term, it is usually associated with souped-up smartphones geared for performance and gaming. Before getting into the performance itself, the look and feel of the smartphone gives off a strong futuristic feel.
The back panel has a Nothing Phone-like design. At first glance, it feels like looking into the internals of the device with dark ash, blue and yellow stripes. Infinix is calling it their Cyber Mecha design. However, it's just the graphics on the back panel that has been rendered in a highly detailed 3D space. The device is all plastic with a plastic frame and back panel. The camera module has an LED strip that looks like the Glyph interface from Nothing. However, its size and functions are much more limited compared to the Glyph.

Dimension wise the device comes in at 162.7 x 75.9 x 8.1 mm with 187 gm of effective weight. The lightweight design makes it comfortable to use for a long time without any issues. Ports and button selection are also standard. The power and volume buttons are on the right and the dual sim slot and micro SDXC are on the left. The top has a secondary noise cancellation mic and the bottom houses the main mic, Type C port, and an ever-so-important 3.5 mm headphone jack for gaming.
Overall, the design is a breath of fresh air against the minimal-looking designs from Infinix. It might not be for everyone, but it definitely has its niche.
The Display
The display on the Infinix GT 10 Pro is an AMOLED 120 Hz refresh rate panel with 1B colors and 900 nits of peak brightness. It's surprising how Infinix was able to cue in such features at a budget price point.

The display itself is a 6.67-inch screen that comes with an 87% screen-to-body ratio. The Flexy AMOLED panel allows for internal curving. The result is a completely symmetric bezel on the front which looks straight out of iPhones. The 1080P by 2400 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio allows for 395 ppi which gives a crisp and sharp look to the display.
There are no weird color shifts or occasional stutters which are common on budget smartphones with high refresh rates. Whether for gaming or media consumption, the GT Pro display is hands down the best in its budget class.
The Camera
There’s a common idea that gaming smartphones typically don’t have good cameras. And unfortunately, this is more or less true for every gaming smartphone including the GT 10 Pro.
Read more: Walton Walpad 8G Review: Worth buying?
There is a triple camera setup with a 108 MP main sensor, 2 MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. Don’t get swayed by the megapixel on the main sensor as it lacks many supporting features like PDAF, OIS, and EIS.
The f/1.8 sensor captures decent shots in daylight. There are occasional color detection issues when zoomed in on a shot. The dynamic range is a hit or miss at times.

Key Features of Infinix Note 30 Pro 5G
Design
The phone has dimensions of 162.7 x 76 x 8.2 mm and weighs around 203 gm. So the phone can be described as a big and above average weight phone.
The front edge of the Infinix Note 30 Pro features minimal bezels on three sides and a slightly wider "chin." There is a small hole at the top of the display for the selfie camera. The display itself is flat and large, offering an immersive viewing experience. There are no other elements on the front, keeping it clean and minimalist.

The back panel of the Infinix Note 30 Pro is truly eye-catching. The phone features an iridescent texture that adds a touch of uniqueness to its appearance. The Infinix logo is placed at the lower part of the back in a futuristic font, creating a striking contrast with the rest of the design. The camera setup is located in the top left corner, consisting of three lenses arranged in a rectangular pattern and an LED flash.
It's worth mentioning that the phone features a water-repellent coating, offering some level of protection against water. However, it is important to exercise caution when exposing the device to water or heavy rain.
Additionally, the phone features ultra-thin bezels, dual stereo speakers, sound by JBL, and is certified by Hi-Res, enhancing the audio experience and making the Note 30 Pro stand out in terms of audio capabilities.

Display
The Infinix Note 30 Pro boasts a stunning display that elevates the viewing experience. It features a 120Hz refresh rate and benefits from Infinix's Smart Refresh and Magellan Engine technologies. These features allow the device to adjust its refresh rate dynamically based on the displayed content, ensuring a smooth and fluid experience while conserving battery power.
While gaming or watching videos, the Note 30 Pro's display delivers vibrant colors and sharp details. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display offers a peak brightness of 900 nits, a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, 1920Hz PWM Dimming, and a 360Hz Touch Sampling Rate. These specifications contribute to a responsive and visually captivating 1080 x 2400 pixels display.
Performance
Regarding performance, the Infinix Note 30 Pro does not disappoint. It has a powerful MediaTek Helio G99 processor built on a 6nm process, ensuring energy efficiency and high performance. The device also features Vapor-Chamber Liquid Cooling technology, which helps keep the phone cool even during intense usage.

The Note 30 Pro also supports Infinix's self-developed Ultra Power Signal (UPS) technology. This technology is specifically designed for weak signal environments, such as basements, elevators, suburban areas, and areas with poor network coverage.
With a new antenna design and proprietary algorithms, UPS technology significantly improves signal performance, ensuring a stable and smooth connection even in challenging signal conditions. This is particularly beneficial for low-latency applications like gaming and video streaming. The phone uses Mali-G57 MC2 graphical chipset, which adds sufficient support while playing heavy games.
Software
The Infinix Note 30 Pro runs on XOS 13, which is based on Android 13. The software offers a range of customization options, allowing users to personalize their phones according to their preferences. With themes, skin themes, icons, and dark mode tones, you can easily customize the look and feel of your device. The launcher is intuitive and reminiscent of popular launchers like the POCO launcher. The notification shade provides a wealth of options and versatility.

However, it's worth noting that the software comes with pre-installed apps that cannot be removed, and these apps may generate notifications throughout the day, which can be somewhat frustrating for some users. The software offers a smooth and responsive experience, with fast speeds and no noticeable lag or slowdowns.
Cameras
The Infinix Note 30 Pro has a triple rear camera setup featuring an impressive 108MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The primary shooter performs well in bright daylight, delivering crisp, detailed shots with accurate colors. The Auto HDR feature effectively balances exposure and captures vibrant skies while maintaining details in the shadows.
The 2X telephoto lens works best in well-lit environments but struggles in low-light situations. Shutter speeds can be slow, requiring steady hands to avoid blurring. The phone also offers a variable depth of field adjustments in portrait mode, although the background separation can be improved.

The Note 30 Pro's camera also includes a 2X telephoto zoom, which allows for closer shots with decent sharpness and consistent colors. However, images can appear slightly soft, particularly in low-light conditions. Overall, the camera performance is decent but could benefit from further refinement, especially considering the phone's price range.
On the front, a 32MP selfie camera captures decent-quality images. However, some images may appear slightly over-processed. The front and rear cameras support 4K 30FPS video recording, a valuable feature for users who enjoy capturing high-quality videos. Zoom capabilities are available but may result in some loss of detail.
The Note 30 Pro also offers features such as Super Night Mode and a Night Filter for low-light photography and 960fps slow-motion video capture. The Sky Remap editing feature allows users to transform hazy skies into clear blue ones, adding creative possibilities to their photography.
