HC stays recruitment process of 3534 job seekers
The High Court (HC) on Monday stayed the recruitment process of 3, 534 job seekers as junior instructors and physical education instructors under the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) for three months.
The HC bench of Justice M Akram Hossain Chowdhury and Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Raja passed the order after hearing a petition in this regard.
The court also issued a rule asking the government to explain as to why the recruitment process should not be declared illegal.
The BPSC issued a circular on October 26 in 2021 announcing vacant posts for the junior instructors and physical education instructors for polytechnic institutes and technical schools and colleges under the Technical and Madrasha Education Board.
The recruitment tests were held on March 18, 2023.
The BPS issued a circular appointing 3, 534 applicants on January 20 this year and ordered the successful candidates to join on January 29.
But challenging the legality of the appointment, 18 people filed a writ petition with the HC.
Barrister Kaisar Kamal accompanied by several lawyers stood for the petitioners at the court.

Appointment of 6 members of BPSC cancelled
Amid controversy, the government has cancelled the appointment of six members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday.
The members were appointment on January 2.

The six members are Professor Dr. Syeda Shahina Subhan, Sabbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Brig Gen (retd) AF Jaglul Ahmed, Md. Dr. Munir Hossain, Prof. Dr. Shahnaz Sarker and Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman.
On Sunday, a group of Dhaka University students issued a 24 hour ultimatum to cancel the appointment of the six members on Sunday.

43rd BCS preli exam rescheduled for Oct 29
Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has rescheduled the date of the 43rd BCS preliminary examination for October 29 from October 15.
The commission announced the change in a handout on Tuesday.

Online registration for the preliminary test started on December 30 last year and will continue until June 30.
This time, the government will recruit 1,814 officials, including 300 public administration cadres, 100 police cadres, 25 foreign service cadres and 843 education cadres.

43rd BCS application deadline extended until June 30
The deadline for online application for the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination has been extended until June 30.
Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) made the announcement in a media statement on Monday.
