Jaya Ahsan’s Bollywood debut confirmed as photos emerge with Pankaj Tripathi, other co-actors
Popular Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan, who was rumoured to be making her debut in Bollywood soon, is now officially confirmed as a cast member of Indian filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury's next project.
The actress was seen in photographs with her co-actors including Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi, actress Sanjana Sanghi, Malayalam blockbuster film ‘Charlie’-famed actress Parvathy Thiruvothu and others, alongside the director and producer on Wednesday.

Jointly written by Viraf Sarkari, Ritesh Shah and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, shooting for the film began on Wednesday. The film is being shot in Mumbai and Kolkata. It is an investigative drama with a heart-warming story, centred around the coming together of a dysfunctional family.
Regarding her Bollywood debut, Jaya Ahsan said to the Times of India that she is excited to be a part of the film. “This is my first film in Hindi and my character is an integral part of the movie. When this offer came to me, I was thrilled and said yes immediately because Aniruddha is the director, and I have Pankaj Tripathi as one of my co-actors. I have always wanted to work with them and the fact that it’s my first Hindi film doubles the delight.”

Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury said, “This film has a story layered with intrigue which reveals itself over time - how faced with odds, people come together to form a strong unit. I am so happy to collaborate with Wiz Films and an eclectic cast like Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjana Sanghi, Parvathi Thirovothu and Jaya Ahsan along with crew Avik Mukhopadhyay, Ritesh Shah, Shantanu Moitro and Arghyakamal Mitra.”
The yet-to-be-titled film is produced by Wiz Films, KVN and HT Content Studio, in association with Opus Communications.

Popular Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan has won over the local as well as India's Kolkata-based film industry with her acting prowess.
Now, according to West Bengal media, the versatile actress could be making her debut in Hindi cinema.

According to Kolkata's Anandabazar Patrika, Jaya could be seen in the Hindi movie "Karak Singh", directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury where renowned Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi will play the title role.
"Karak Singh" is going to be based on the story of a financial scam. The movie will be shot in Kolkata and Mumbai, sources said. Jaya, however, has not cleared the air and has not confirmed whether she is going to make her debut in a Hindi film.

The award ceremony titled 'Anandalok Awards 2022' was held on Wednesday at the ITC Royal Bengal Auditorium in Kolkata.

Jaya Ahsan bags 'Black Lady' again!
Bangladeshi actor Jaya Ahsan has bagged the ‘Black Lady' Filmfare award for the third time -- this year, for the film 'Binisutoy' in the the 'best actress popular choice' category.
This again proved that Jaya’s unbeatable fame in Bangladesh had transcended the border and made her a trustworthy name for the Indian state of West Bengal’s film industry Tollywood.
The actress received the award at a gala ceremony of ‘Filmfare Awards Bangla 2022’ in Kolkata on Thursday night.
An overjoyed Jaya wrote on Facebook, "I am overwhelmed to be awarded with the prestigious #Filmfare award for the third time. The black lady has again come to me for being the winner in the best actress popular choice category for the film #Binisutoy.”

She thanked the audience and Filmfare "for giving this kind of love and encouragement".
She said that director Atanu Ghosh's dreamy creation is indeed being celebrated with this achievement and congratulated the entire team of 'Binisutoy' for achieving the titles of 'Best Film (critics) and 'Best Editing'.
“May the unspoken untouched bond of Binisutoy lingers in our life forever, congratulations once again!” she said.
In 2018, Jaya was awarded the Filmfare for the first time as best actress for her acting in the film ‘Bisarjan’. In 2019, she won the award again in the same category for ‘Bijoya’ and ‘Robibar'.

Actress Jaya Ahsan’s well-known popularity in West Bengal recently brought her another achievement of receiving the best actress award for the film ‘Binisutoy’.
The actress announced the news on her verified Facebook page on Monday.
The award ceremony titled ‘Cinemar Somabarton’ arranged by West Bengal Film Journalist Association (WBFJA) was held last Friday at Kolkata.

Jaya Ahsan becomes UNDP goodwill ambassador
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has appointed actress, producer and social activist Jaya Ahsan as its goodwill ambassador for Bangladesh for a year, starting in January.
The voluntary service and support of Jaya as the goodwill ambassador will spotlight important issues like Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to mobilise support and raise awareness in achieving the goals by 2030.

"We are fortunate to have Jaya Ahsan, who is not only a very celebrated artiste but also a person committed to social good, to be our goodwill ambassador," said Sudipto Mukerjee, resident representative of the UNDP Bangladesh.
"Having her with us will help to amplify our call to everyone within and beyond Bangladesh to join the UNDP's efforts towards a healthier, happier and more equal planet that seeks to leave no one behind," he added.
"I am honoured to be named the goodwill ambassador of the UNDP and extremely privileged to join the team in working towards these goals," Jaya said.

"I will advocate and mobilise action to work on SDGs through online and offline media and all other platforms I have access to," she added.
Jaya will also work with the UNDP to raise public awareness and galvanise support for different campaigns on poverty, governance, resilience, environment, energy and gender equality.
