Covid in Bangladesh: 31 more die, 13,154 get infected
Bangladesh logged 31 more Covid-related deaths with health authorities logging 13,154 fresh cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
The daily positivity rate slightly declined to 29.17 per cent from Monday’s 29.77 per cent after testing 45,358 samples during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The fresh numbers took the country’s total fatalities to 28,425 while the caseload mounted to 1,811,987.

Among the new deceased, 15 were men and 16 women.
Nineteen deaths were reported in Dhaka division while seven in Chattogram, two in Sylhet, and one each in Rajshahi, Khulna and Rangpur divisions.
Meanwhile, the mortality rate further declined to 1.57 per cent.
However, the recovery rate also declined to 86.70 per cent with the recovery of 2,721 more patients during the 24-hour period.

Covid kills 4 more in Bangladesh; positivity rate falls to 1.05%
Bangladesh reported four more Covid-related deaths with 297 fresh cases in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
With the latest cases, the daily-case positivity rate declined to 1.05 per cent from Tuesday’s 1.29 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total fatalities rose to 28,038 while the caseload mounted to 15,80,302 with the fresh ones.
Three of the latest deceased were men and one was a woman. Each fatality was reported from Dhaka, Khulna, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.
Meanwhile, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent during the period.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 28,317 samples, said the DGHS.
Besides, the recovery rate remained static at 97.76 per cent with the recovery of 269 more patients during the 24-hour period.

The country reported this year’s first zero Covid-related death in a single day on November 20 along with 178 infections since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.
Bangladesh reported the highest number of daily fatalities of 264 on August 5 this year, while the highest daily caseload was 16,230 on July 28 this year.
So far, 4,41,62,695 people have fully been vaccinated in the country while 6,74,70,049 received the first dose as of Tuesday, according to the DGHS.
Among them, 2,70,304 students, aged from 12-17, have fully been vaccinated while 15,88,886 students received the first dose so far.

Bangladesh reported three more Covid-related deaths with 295 fresh cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With the latest cases, the daily-case positivity rate declined to 1.29 per cent from Monday’s 1.72 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total fatalities mounted to 28,034 while the caseload mounted to 15,80,005 with the fresh cases.

Two of the latest deceased were men and one was a woman. Each fatality was reported from Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi divisions.

Bangladesh logged six more Covid-related deaths along with 277 fresh cases in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
With the latest cases, the daily-case positivity rate declined to 1.35 per cent from Tuesday’s 1.45 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the fresh numbers, the total fatalities rose to 28,016 while the caseload mounted to 15,78,288.

Among the latest deceased, four were men and two women. Three deaths were reported from Dhaka division while one each was from Chattogram, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions.
However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.78 per cent during the period.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 20,644 samples, amid the growing concern over the new ‘Omicron’ variant of coronavirus.
Besides, the recovery rate remained unchanged at 97.78 per cent with the recovery of 296 more patients during the 24-hour period.
On November 20, Bangladesh logged this year’s first zero Covid-linked death with 178 cases.

Bangladesh logs another 3 Covid-related deaths, 197 fresh infections
The Covid-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh decreased with health authorities reporting three more deaths and 197 infections in 24 hours till Friday morning.
The daily-case positivity rate slightly decreased to 1.12 per cent from Thursday’s 1.32 per cent.
However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.78 per cent.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 17,446 samples, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the fresh numbers, the Covid-19 fatalities reached 27,890 while the caseload climbed to 15,70,681, according to the DGHS.
Also, the recovery rate remained unchanged at 97.70 per cent with the recovery of 178 more patients during the period.
So far, 30,208,700 people have fully been vaccinated in the country while 43,101,199 received the first dose as of Wednesday, according to the DGHS.

Meanwhile, the campaign to vaccinate the school students of the 12-17 age group began in Dhaka on Monday.
The vaccination campaign will be conducted at eight centres in the capital although it was scheduled to begin at 12 centres in the city. Other centres did not get approval due to lack of adequate facilities.

Covid daily-death toll in Bangladesh falls to 26
Bangladesh registered 26 more Covid-related deaths in 24 hours till Monday Morning, the lowest in in around four months.
The country last recorded 22 single-day Covid deaths on May 27, this year.
Besides, 1,555 more people came out positive with the virus during the 24-hour period after testing 27,431 samples, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this increase, the daily case positivity rate rose to 5.67 percent from Sunday’s 5.62 percent.
The fresh numbers took the country’s total covid-19 fatalities to 27,251 today (Monday), while the caseload mounted to 1,544,238, said the DGHS.
Meanwhile, it said, the fatality rate remained static at 1.76 per cent.
Besides, the recovery rate continued to rise as it reached 97.34 per cent on Monday with the recovery of 1,565 patients during the 24-hour period.

So far, 1,503,106 people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added.

Daily Covid fatalities double in RMCH as 14 die
Just when people were letting their guards down, thinking they had seen the worst of Covid, single day deaths at RMCH doubled on Monday.
As many as 14 people died of Covid-related reasons at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Monday.
The number was seven the previous day.

The number of Covid-related deaths in the hospital was below 10 for the past six days after shattering all grim records in July and the better part of August.
Of the fresh deaths, seven were confirmed Covid-19 patients, six showed symptoms of the virus and one more died due to post-Covid complications, said hospital director Brigadier General Shamim Yeazdani.
Of the deceased, four were from Rajshahi, two from Chapainawabganj, five from Natore and one each from Naogaon, Pabna, and Meherpur. While seven of them were men, the remaining seven were women.
Shamim said that 29 people have been admitted to the corona unit of the hospital in the past 24 hours. On the other hand, some 25 people were discharged from the hospital after recovery during the period.

Besides, some 161 people are currently undergoing treatment in the 513-bed corona unit of the hospital.
RMCH has been one of the most stretched hospitals in the country during the second wave of Covid-19, particularly since the latter part of May when the deadly Delta variant of the virus was identified in multiple samples of Rajshahi division.

Covid claims 13 more lives in Sylhet
Sylhet division has logged 13 new Covid-related deaths in 24 hours till Sunday morning, as the ruthless Delta variant of coronavirus continues its spread across the country.
Of the total deaths, 12 were reported in Sylhet district alone, said Dr Himangshu Lal Roy, director (health) of Sylhet.

During this period, some 460 people found positive for Covid after testing 1,722 samples.
The positivity rate currently stands at 26.71%.
With the fresh figures, the total fatalities and cases in the division now stand at 897 and 48,912, respectively.
Moreover, 36,646 people have recovered to date.

Besides, 36 people have been admitted to the corona unit of Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital in the past 24 hours.
Currently, 577 Covid patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Sylhet division.

Sylhet division has logged 21 new Covid-related deaths in 24 hours till Thursday morning, as the ruthless Delta variant of coronavirus continues its spread across the country.

Of the total deaths, 19 were reported in Sylhet district alone, said Dr Himangshu Lal Roy, director (health) of Sylhet.
According to the authorities, 567 new infections were detected in the division during the period. With the fresh figures, the total fatalities and cases in the division now stand at 865 and 47,578, respectively.

Kushtia logs 7 more Covid deaths
Seven more Covid-related deaths were reported at Kushtia General Hospital in the past 24 hours, officials said on Thursday morning.
All the deceased had tested positive for Covid, said statistics officer of Kushtia General Hospital, Md Mejbaul Alam.

Besides, 292 people have tested positive for Covid in the district in the past 24 hours. "Some 1,085 samples were tested during the period," he said.
The positivity rate rose to 26.91%, while the WHO recommends a positivity rate of below 5%.
A total of 191 people with Covid symptoms are currently undergoing treatment at the leading medical facility, officials said.

So far, 16,587 people have been infected with the virus in the district, while the death toll reached 650.
On the other hand, 12,874 people have recovered from Covid to date.
