A Sylhet tribunal on Sunday framed charges against all the eight accused in a case filed over the gang-rape of a newly-wed woman at Sylhet’s MC College hostel in September last year.

Police found the involvement of some accused, arrested over the gang rape of a woman at Sylhet MC College, in a DNA test.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira on Tuesday said criminals involved in the Sylhet gang rape and Begumganj incident will be tried by speedy trial tribunals and punished.

Three accused in Sylhet MC College gang rape case were produced before the court on Friday after their five-day remand.

Two more suspects in the Sylhet MC College gang rape case were arrested from separate places in Habignj district on Sunday.

Strongly denouncing the incident of a ‘gang-rape’ in a dormitory of Sylhet MC College, BNP on Sunday alleged that it has depicted the ‘lawlessness and anarchic’ situation created in the country by ‘Awami League’.
