BNP and its associate bodies observed ‘Shaheed Jihad Day’ on Sunday, marking the 31st anniversary of the martyrdom of Nazir Uddin Ahmed Jihad. Jihad, a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist of Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj, was shot to death in Dhaka on October 10, 1990 during the anti-Ershad movement. JCD central leaders placed a wreath at Jihad Memorial Mausoleum at Dainik Bangla crossing at about 8:30pm in observance of the day.
