Asian Chess: Bangladesh's Razib, Jannatul lose 2nd-round matches
Bangladeshi players GM Enamul Haque Razib and WCM Jannatul Ferdous lost their second-round matches of the Asian Continental Chess Championships 2022 in the Indian capital New Delhi Thursday.
GM Enamul Hussain Razib lost to Grandmaster Rinat Jumabayev of Kazakhstan in the open category. WCM Jannatul Ferdous conceded defeat to WGM Yakubbayeva Nilufar of Uzbekistan in the women's category.
After the matches, WCM Jannatul Ferdous secured one point and GM Razib half a point.

The top four players from the open category will get the chance to participate in the 2023 FIDE World Cup Chess.
The top two players from the women's category will make it to the 2023 FIDE Women's World Cup Chess.

Asian Chess for Disabled: Marufa finishes 6th
Marufa Azad Sukanya of Bangladesh has finished sixth in the women's section of the Asian Chess Championship for Players with Disabilities 2021, securing three points from five matches.
The tournament took place from July 9-11 online; two male and two female players from Bangladesh took part in it.

Apart from Marufa, another Bangladesh female player Sharmi Roy collected two points from the competition.
In the men's section, Bappi Sarkar of Bangladesh secured two points from five matches while another Bangladeshi Md Ali Newaz Sarkar bagged one point.

Asian Chess: GM Niaz, Enamul share 3rd position
Bangladesh's GM Niaz Murshed and GM Enamul Hossain shared the 3rd position along with 14 other players, securing two and a half points each after the 4th round matches of the Asian Continental Individual Chess Championship 2021 Monday.
The other Bangladeshi players, IM Abu Sufian Shakil and IM Mohammad Farhad Rahman earned two points each while FM Subrota Biswas earned one and a half points.
The ongoing Hybrid Chess is also an event to qualify for the FIDE World Chess 2021.

In the day's 4th round, GM Niaz Murshed drew with Indonesia's CM Aditya Bagus Arfan, GM Razib beat Kazakistan's WIM Nazerke Nurgali, FM Subrota lost to Indonesia's GM Susanto Megaranto, IM Shakil beat the Philippines' Gladmir Chester Romero while IM Fahad beat Jimmy Dano of the same country.
The 5th round games will be held Monday from 12noon Bangladesh time and the Bangladeshi players will play from the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room.

Bangladesh team were eliminated from the preliminary phase in the open section of the Asian Nations Cup Online Chess Championship 2020 on Sunday.
