Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Ziadur Rahman passed the order after Inspector Mohidul Islam of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), also the investigation officer of a case filed over Raihan's death, produced him before the court seeking a five-day remand. The family members of Raihan Ahmed ended their hunger strike on Sunday afternoon after Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury told them that he would talk to the authorities concerned to ensure the accused are arrested.

A court on Saturday placed a police constable who was suspended over the death of Raihan at Bandarbazar police outpost in Sylhet on a five-day remand.  The accused cop was identified as Harunur Rashid, constable of Bandarbazar police outpost.

A sub-inspector of Bandarbazar police outpost was suspended on Wednesday as he allegedly helped  suspend SI Akbar, an accused in a case over Raihan’s death in police custody, to flee Sylhet police lines.
