New students for different classes of schools, including class I, will be selected through a lottery process this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.

Amid concerns that there could be a surge in Covid-19 cases in Bangladesh during the upcoming winter months, the government has again extended the closure of educational institutions until December 19, aiming to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
