BPL Football: Police move to 5th slot beating Swadhinata KS 1-0
Bangladesh Police moved to the fifth spot in the 12-team Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football after beating newcomers Swadhinata KS 1-0 at the Muktijoddha Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi Monday.
Afghan forward Amiruddin Sharifi scored the match-winner for Police in the 71st minute from a penalty (1-0).
With the day's feat, Police moved to the fifth spot, securing 28 points from 18 matches. Swadhinata remained at the bottom of the table with nine points after playing as many matches.
In the day's other match, Rahmatganj crushed Muktijoddha 7-1 at the Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

Ghanaian forward Philip Adjah and Nigerian striker Sunday Chizoba scored two goals each; Al Amin, Ivorian defender Lancine Toure and Ashraful Islam netted one each for Rahmatganj, who dominated the first half 2-1.
Obaidur pulled one back Muktijoddha in the stoppage time of the first half.
With the day's result, Rahmatganj moved to the ninth spot, securing 14 points from 19 matches. Muktijoddha remained at the 11th spot with 11 points from 18 matches.
