A narrow escape: Bangladesh beat UAE by 7 runs in 1st T20
Bangladesh won the first of the two-match T20I series against hosts UAE by seven runs Sunday night in Dubai.
Put in to bat first, the Tigers scored 158-5. Chasing 159, UAE batted well but fell short of seven runs.
Chirag Suri scored 39 off 24 balls and kept the UAE's hopes alive. Aayan Afzal Khan scored 25 off 17 balls.
Shoriful Islam bagged three wickets, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz also picked up as many wickets.
Earlier, Afif Hossain smashed an unbeaten 77 off 58 balls to guide Bangladesh to 158-5 against the hosts.
The Tigers lost three wickets in the powerplay.

Bangladesh bat first with Anamul in playing XI
Bangladesh have lost the toss and were sent to bat first in the second Test of the two-match series against the West Indies on Friday at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.
Bangladesh included Anamul Haque Bijoy in the playing XI for eight years. He played his last Test at the same venue in 2014.

Mominul Haque, the former Test captain of Bangladesh, has been dropped in this match for his prolonged bad patch with the bat. Bangladesh also dropped the left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman to include the other left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam.
While Bangladesh made two changes, the hosts, West Indies, made one change dropping Gudakesh Motie to include Anderson Phillip.
Bangladesh lost the first Test in Antigua by seven wickets. The Tigers are now looking forward to winning this match and ending the series in a draw.
This series is a part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Antigua Test: Bangladesh bat first against West Indies
West Indies have won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat first in the first of the two-match Test series in Antigua Thursday.
Bangladesh included left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman in the playing XI. Liton Das will not keep wicket in this match. Nurul Hasan Sohan was added to the playing XI as specialist wicketkeeper.
Along with Mustafizur, the other two pacers of Bangladesh are Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain – both playing their first Test in the West Indies.
In this Test, the West Indies are relatively younger compared to Bangladesh. However, the late inclusion of Kemar Roach will be a boost to the hosts.

Before this series, Bangladesh took on the West Indies in 18 matches and won only four of them.
The Tigers played eight Tests in the West Indies and won two of them with the last win being in 2018 during their last tour to the Caribbean.
Bangladesh will miss the service of batter Mushfiqur Rahim who chose not to take part in this series for personal reasons.
Right before the first Test, Bangladesh also lost Yasir Ali Rabbi who suffered a blow on his back that eventually ruled him out of the series. To replace him, Bangladesh recalled Anamul Haque to the Test team after eight years. He will be available to play in the second Test slated to be played on June 24.
