Although three years have elapsed since the formal inauguration of Chilmari River Port, it is yet to see any activities, causing frustration to local people.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Friday said a project to develop the Chilmari River Port will soon be approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec).
