India's COVID-19 tally crosses 30 million
India's COVID-19 tally surpassed 30 million-mark and the death toll crossed 390,000 on Wednesday, said the federal health ministry.
While the tally rose to 30,028,709, the aggregate death toll reached 390,660.
As many as 50,848 new cases and 1,358 deaths were registered across the country during the past 24 hours.

Still there are 643,194 active cases, as there was a decrease of 19,327 cases since Tuesday morning.

A total of 28,994,855 people have been discharged after successful treatment from hospitals, out of whom 68,817 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.

India's COVID-19 tally nearing 17 mln
India's COVID-19 tally reached 16,960,172 on Sunday with as many as 349,691 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours.
This was the fourth consecutive day when over 300,000 cases were registered in a single day.
According to the figures released by the federal health ministry, as many as 2,767 deaths took place in the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 192,311.
There are still a total of 2,682,751 active cases in the country, with an increase of 129,811 active cases through Saturday, as 14,085,110 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals so far across the country.
The COVID-19 figures continue to peak in the country every day, as the federal government has ruled out imposing a complete lockdown to contain the worsening situation. While some school examinations stand cancelled, others have been postponed due to the COVID-19 situation.
Delhi has been put under a week long lockdown till April 26.

The number of daily active cases has been on the rise over the past few weeks. In January the number of daily cases in the country had come down to below-10,000.
January 16 was a crucial day in India's fight against the pandemic as the nationwide vaccination drive was kicked off during the day. So far over 140 million vaccination doses (140,916,417) have been administered to the people across the country.
Meanwhile, the federal government has ramped up COVID-19 testing facilities across the country, as over 277 million tests have been conducted so far.
As many as 277,918,810 tests were conducted till Saturday, out of which 1,719,588 tests were conducted on Saturday alone, said the latest data issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Sunday.

The national capital Delhi, which has been one of the most COVID-19 affected places in the country, witnessed over 24,000 new cases and 357 deaths through Saturday.
So far as many as 13,898 people have died in the national capital due to COVID-19, confirmed the Delhi's health department.

India records highest spike of daily COVID-19 cases this year, tally at 12,392,260
India's COVID-19 tally rose to 12,392,260 on Saturday as 89,129 new cases were reported from across the country, according to the latest figures released by the federal health ministry.
Besides, 714 deaths were registered, taking the death toll to 164,110.
Both the number of new cases and deaths are the highest this year so far.
There are still 658,909 active cases in the country, while 11,569,241 people have been discharged from hospitals after medical treatment.
There was an increase of 44,213 active cases during the previous 24 hours, out of which, the maximum cases were reported from the southwestern state of Maharashtra.
The number of daily active cases has been on the rise over the past few days, as another wave of the pandemic looms large in India.
In January, the number of daily cases in the country had come down to below 10,000 as 9,102 new cases were reported between Jan. 25-26.

India kicked off a nationwide vaccination drive in January, and so far over 73 million people have been vaccinated across the country.
Meanwhile, the federal government has ramped up testing facilities across the country, and more than 246 million tests have been conducted so far.
A total of 246,959,192 tests were conducted till Friday, out of which 1,046,605 tests were conducted on Friday alone, said the latest data issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research on Saturday.

The national capital Delhi, one of the most affected places in the country, witnessed as many as 3,500 new cases and 14 deaths through Friday.
So far 11,050 people have died in the national capital due to COVID-19, confirmed Delhi's health department.
