Gold worth TK 63.17 lakh seized at Shaha Amanat Airport
Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate officials seized 736 grams gold worth Tk 63.17 lakh from a luggage at Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport on Monday.
However, no one was arrested in this connection.
Tipped off, a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate officials seized the gold from a luggage near conveyer belt of the airport in the morning, said Bashir Ahmed, additional director general of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate.

The seized golds were deposited to the customs office.

2 held with 20 gold bars in Chattogram’s Sitakunda
Police arrested two people and seized 20 gold bars from Sitakunda in Chattogram district on Wednesday.
The arrestees were identified as Basu Pal, 35, son of Sunil Pal of Anwara upazila, and Ratan Pal, 60, son of Shashank Pal of Bashkhali upazila.
Tofayel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, said suspecting the movement of two people, police challenged them in front of Shyamoli Paribahan bus counter in the morning.
Later, police recovered 20 gold bars, weighing 2332.11 grams, from their shoes.
After interrogation, police came to know that they were waiting for a bus to go to Dhaka to sell the gold bars.

The market value of the seized gold bars is Tk 1.70 crore.
A case was filed with Sitakunda Police Station.

Man held with 1.24 kg gold, lead at Chattogram Airport
Customs officials detained a man and seized 1.244 kgs of gold and nine kgs of lead at Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport on Thursday.
The detainee is Masud Rana of Jamalpur district.
AKM Sultan Mahmud, deputy director of Customs Intelligence, said a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines BGB-148 landed at the airport around 7 am from Dubai.
Suspecting movement of Rana, a passenger of the flight, the Customs officials challenged him and seized 1.245 kgs of gold and nine kgs of lead from his luggage.

Gold worth Tk 2.5 crore seized in Chuadanga
Members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) seized four gold bars, weighing 4 kg, worth Tk 2.57 crore from Ramnagar Eidgah Field in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district on Friday.
Tipped off, a BGB team conducted a drive in the area and seized four abandoned gold bars from a field along the Darshana border, said a BGB media release.
The gold bars were deposited with the Chuadanga treasury office.

Three held with Tk 8cr-worth liquid gold at Dhaka airport
Airport Armed Police on Tuesday apprehended three men at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and seized around 14kg liquid gold worth Tk 8 crore from their possession.
The three have been identified as Md Riazul Hasan, 46, Mohammad Amin, 35, and Mokaram Khan, 33.

Md Ziaul Haque, additional superintendent of AAP, a specialised police unit in charge of airport security, told UNB that the three were held on a tip-off.
“Acting on the tip off, we intercepted the trio after they got off from a Turkish Airlines flight that landed at the airport from Dubai via Istanbul around 4.30am," he said.
“The gold were liquified by a special process and kept in paste form,” the additional SP added.
