President Abdul Hamid will receive his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday.

Popular musician, composer and playback singer Faruq Mahfuz Anam, popularly known as James, received a COVID-19 vaccine shot on Wednesday at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

The first consignment of five million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine purchased by Bangladesh from the Serum Institute of India Pvt Limited will arrive on Monday, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said Sunday.

Bangladesh’s Covid-19 fatalities rose to 7,966 on Thursday after the health authorities confirmed 16 more coronavirus-related deaths in 24 hours until morning.

Bangladesh will receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine from the Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd on time, Health Minister Zahid Maleque assured the people on Monday.
