IBTRA holds executive development programme
The Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) organised an executive development programme online Saturday.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and chief executive officer of Islami Bank Bangladesh, spoke at the "Customer services and compliant management" as chief guest, according to a media statement.

Mohammad Zahir Hussain, director of the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department of the Bangladesh Bank, spoke as the key discussant.
Islami Bank Bangladesh additional managing directors Mohammad Qaisar Ali and JQM Habibullah also spoke at the programme. SM Rabiul Hassan, principal of IBTRA, presided over it.
Islami Bank is a joint venture public limited company engaged in commercial banking business based on Islamic shariah.
Established in 1983 as the first Islamic bank in Southeast Asia, it is listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange.

IBTRA Chattogram holds entrepreneurship development programme
Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) Chattogram recently conducted a month-long entrepreneurship development training programme.
Twenty-five entrepreneurs received certificates for completing the training.

Arif Hossain Khan, director of the Bangladesh Bank Chattogram office, was present at the closing ceremony of the programme as chief guest. SM Rabiul Hassan, principal of IBTRA, presided over it.
Meah Md Barkat Ullah, head of IBBL Chattogram South Zone, Mohammad Nurul Hossain, head of Chattogram North Zone, and Mohammad Ataul Hoque Sirazee, head of IBTRA Chattogram office, also spoke at the programme.

Bangladesh well on track to adopt fintech for sustainable growth: Salim
Bangladesh is well on track to adopt financial technology (fintech) to ensure its sustainable growth, said Professor Md Salim Uddin, chairman of the executive committee of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL).
He was addressing an executive development programme organised by Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) Saturday online.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and chief executive officer of IBBL, also addressed the programme.
Professor Salim underscored that infrastructure readiness – access to electricity, mobile network coverage, digital services, and e-governance – is well on track.

The fintech ecosystem is growing and expected to get bigger in the coming years, he added.
Bursting with opportunities for cutting-edge and innovative financial services, the fintech industry in Bangladesh enjoys an unsaturated market, according to Light Castle Partners.
However, despite the increasing adoption of technology, lack of interoperability remains a major concern that obstructs further growth of digital financial services in Bangladesh, Salim said.

The Islami Bank Training and Research Academy (IBTRA) organised the workshop "The Challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution in Banking Sector" Saturday in the capital.
Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director and CEO of the bank, inaugurated the programme as chief guest. SM Rabiul Hassan, principal of the IBTRA, presided over it.

The workshop was addressed by Mohammed Ishaque Miah, general manager, and SM Tofayel Ahmad, joint director and system analyst, of the Bangladesh Bank.
Additional Managing Director Md Omar Faruk Khan; deputy managing directors Md Mostafizur Rahman Siddiquee, Md Altaf Hossain and Md Nayer Azam, Taher Ahmed Chowdhury, and Chief Risk Officer Mohammad Ali attended the workshop on a virtual platform along with around 500 executives and officials of the bank.
