The thee-day Bangabandhu 44th National Athletics Championship was officially inaugurated on Saturday afternoon at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here although the competition in some disciplines already began on Friday.

Ismail Hossain and Shirin Akhter retained their titles of the country's fastest man and woman on the opening day of the three-day Bangabandhu 44th National Athletics Championship at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.

The three-day Bangabandhu 44th National Athletics Championship, marking the birth centenary of Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will begin on Friday at the Bangabandu National Stadium here.
