Read ICC Women’s World Cup 2022: The front-runners to reach the semi-finals
Bangladesh women's team has three more matches to play, and their remaining opponents are the World Cup favourites. As a result, defeating India, Australia, and the English women's teams will be difficult. Bangladesh have two points and need at least six points to advance to the knockout stage. Therefore, they will have to win at least two matches to qualify for the semi-finals. Though having six points will not confirm a spot in the next round, and they will have to rely on other fixtures. However, Bangladesh will almost certainly move to the knockout stage if they win all three matches.
According to the recent updates, Australia are in first place with ten points, followed by South Africa with eight points. The Windies are also in an excellent position with 6 points. India, England, and New Zealand have four points apiece. However, the Kiwis only have one game remaining in the group phase. With two games remaining, India and England have a better chance of reaching the semi-finals.

Verdict
The top four teams with the most points at the end of the group stage will advance to the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 semifinals. As a result, each match is significant for the teams involved. According to the most recent point standings, the Australian women's team is the first to qualify for the knockout phase. The South African team has a good chance of finishing in the top two in the points table. Therefore, the final two positions in the semi-final lineups are up for grabs among the remaining six teams. With three games left in the group phase, Bangladesh's women's team is still in contention for a semifinal spot. However, Bangladesh will have to put in their best effort in the remaining matches if they want to win them.

Rumana Ahmed on the verge of reaching two milestones as first Bangladeshi woman cricketer
Bangladesh national women's cricket team is currently competing in the ICC Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. Bangladesh have a slim chance of putting up a fight against the traditional cricketing heavyweights. They have already suffered big defeats to South Africa and New Zealand in their first two games. However, individually, talented female cricketer Rumana Ahmed can achieve two milestones in the upcoming matches. Let's see what milestones Rumana could be able to attain during the tournament.
Expected WODI Milestones for Rumana Ahmed
Rumana Ahmed's unwavering consistency has pushed her to greater heights in Bangladesh women’s cricket. She is also one of Bangladesh's best-known female cricketers on the international stage. Let's take a look at the two major milestones that Rumana is approaching.
1,000 WODI Runs
Rumana Ahmed made her international debut against the Ireland Women's team in 2011. She has appeared in 44 Women's One-Day Internationals for Bangladesh since then. Rumana has scored 915 runs in 41 innings, averaging 25.41. She just needs 85 runs to reach 1,000 WODI runs for the Tigress. With five more matches to play for Bangladesh in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, Rumana has a genuine chance to achieve that feat. This right-handed batter is now Bangladesh's highest run-scorer for the women's team.

ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2022: Five Bangladeshi Cricketers who could shine in New Zealand
The Bangladesh team was competing in the qualifying phase for a spot in the limited-over Women's World Cup in New Zealand. They would have advanced to the Super Six round if the qualification round had not been called off on Saturday (November 27). The ICC had to act quickly after numerous members of the Sri Lankan team tested positive for covid19. Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the West Indies have qualified for the main event based on rankings. Let's have a look at five Bangladesh women cricketers who could make an impact in the ICC ODI World Cup 2022.
ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2022: Five Bangladesh Players to watch
The Bangladesh Women's team has produced some excellent players over the years. In addition, there are few seasoned players on the current team. Five players have been chosen from among them who can spark in the forthcoming event.
Rumana Ahmed
M: 42 | Runs: 893 | HS: 75 | Wkts: 45 | BBI: 4/20
Arguably Bangladesh's finest ever female cricketer Rumana Ahmed has been a member of the national team since 2011. She has been one of the Bangladesh Women's team's most consistent performers. All-rounder Rumana Ahmed is Bangladesh's top run-scorer and wicket-taker in one-day internationals. She will undoubtedly be the Tigresses' most important player at the ICC Women's ODI World Cup.
Read Chattogram Test: Bangladesh set a target of 202 for Pakistan
Nigar Sultana Joty
M: 23 | Runs: 376 | HS: 59*
The current captain of the Bangladesh Women's team Nigar Sultana has been a part of the national team since 2015. She has established herself as a key member of Bangladesh's women's senior team. The BCB named her as skipper of Bangladesh's limited-overs side due to her leadership abilities. Her captaincy role at the World Cup 2022 will be vital for Bangladesh.
Fargana Haque
M: 41 | Runs: 841 | HS: 69*
Fargana Haque is one of Bangladesh's best top-order batters. She has been a part of Bangladesh's national squad since 2011 and has had a big effect on the development of Bangladesh Women’s cricket. Fargana's primary role at the World Cup will be to anchor the innings from start to finish. The rest of the players will bat around her for a chase or a competitive total. So, this seasoned cricketer will be a valuable asset to the Bangladesh Women's team.

Salma Khatun
M: 37 | Runs: 397 | HS: 75* | Wkts: 41 | BBI: 3/6
Salma Khatun is Bangladesh's most experienced player and former captain. She has been a member of the national team for almost a decade. Salma has helped Bangladesh win many international matches, and her participation in the forthcoming event will undoubtedly make a difference.
Jahanara Alam
M: 40 | Wkts: 38 | BBI: 3/18
Jahanara Alam is Bangladesh's best fast bowler. She has played franchise cricket in India and has had significant success there. Jahanara Alam is Bangladesh's fourth-highest wicket-taker in one-day internationals. She will lead the pace attack for the Tigresses in the ICC ODI World Cup 2022 in New Zealand.

Bottom Line
Only the women's team has won the Asia Cup among Bangladesh's men's and women's cricket teams. Therefore, Bangladesh's biggest success on the international stage comes first from the national side of women. The Tigresses have made significant improvements in the last four years, and qualifying for the ICC ODI World Cup 2022 in New Zealand is part of that achievement.
Expecting the Bangladesh Women's team to achieve great success in the upcoming event will be unreasonable. Because tigresses lack sufficient experience to compete in Oceania region. New Zealand wickets are ideal for pace bowlers, and dealing with the fastest bowlers on quick pitches is always a challenge. However, if the Bangladesh Women's team plays as a unit, they can put stronger opponents to the real test.

Bangladesh qualify for ICC Women’s World Cup for first time
Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team qualified for the 12th version of the ICC ongoing ICC Women's Cricket World Cup for the first time as the ongoing qualifier round of the global meet in Zimbabwe has been abandoned due to emergence of a new Covid-19 variant in neighboring South Africa.
The ongoing qualifying tournament, scheduled to be played till December 5 in Zimbabwe, have decided the final three spots for the ICC Women's World Cup in New Zealand next year as well as the remaining two berths in the next cycle of the ICC Women's Championship.

With the emergence of the latest Covid-19 variant in South Africa and the introduction of travel restrictions from a number of African countries, including the hosts country Zimbabwe, the ICC has, however, decided to call off the event, with the qualification slots decided as per team rankings following the tournament's playing conditions.
Bangladesh, Pakistan and the West Indies will now progress to the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand with Australia, India, England, South Africa and host New Zealand while Sri Lanka and Ireland occupying the other slots for the 2022-25 cycle of the ICC Women's Championship.
"We’re incredibly disappointed to have to cancel the remainder of this event but with travel restrictions from a number of African countries being imposed at such short notice, there was a serious risk that teams would be unable to return home," said Chris Tetley, the ICC Head of Events.
"We’ve explored a number of options to allow us to complete the event but it isn’t feasible and we will fly the teams out of Zimbabwe as soon as possible,” he added.
Bangladesh, Pakistan and the West Indies will now qualify for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 by virtue of their rankings, whilst Sri Lanka and Ireland will also join them in the next cycle of the ICC Women’s Championship," he said.

Women’s World Cup Qualifiers: Tigresses show how it is done defeating Pakistan in key contest
Bangladesh Women’s cricket team made a flying start to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers on Sunday, defeating Pakistan by three wickets and with two balls remaining, in a key fixture in Group B at the Old Hararians ground in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Asked to bat first by Tigress captain Nigar Sultana, Pakistan scored a moderate total of 201 for 7 in their stipulated 50 overs.
Bangladeshi women overtook that making 202 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 49. 4 overs, riding on invaluable contributions from player of the match Rumana Ahmed and Fargana Hoque.
Rumana, batting at number 5, provided the acceleration and also saw the chase home, remaining not out on a coolly made 50 off 44 balls with six hits to the boundary.
Earlier the experienced number 3 Fargana Hoque scored a patient 45 (90 balls, 2 fours) to hold the innings steady.

Former captain Salma joined Rumana at the crease with Bangladesh needing 42 runs off 4.3 overs – nearly 10 runs an over.
But they stepped on the gas and saw their team through in what was potentially their toughest fixture of the first of two group phases that the qualifying competition is split into.

The key over came in the 48th, bowled by Omaima Sohail, who had rocked the Bangladesh chase in just her previous over, the 46th, by picking up two wickets and conceding just two runs.
Now with 35 needed off three overs, Rumana and Sultana caned her for 18 runs off the 48th over, Sultana hitting her for a boundary off the first ball and then getting off strike, followed by Rumana hitting three consecutive fours to bring the equation down dramatically.
With 17 now needed off 2 overs, the Tigresses had another big over in the 49th, taking 12 off Diana Baig. Salma, the number 9, helped herself to a second boundary as she finished on 18 not out off 13 balls.
She and Rumana then proceeded to coolly collect the 5 runs needed in the last over off four deliveries bowled by Fatima Sana, doing it in ones and twos. The finish came in a manner their more illustrious male counterparts could pick up some pointers from.
Earlier, Pakistan recovered well from losing their first five wickets for just 49 runs in 17.5 overs, relying on a tremendous partnership between Nida Dar and Aliya Riaz that contributed 137 runs for the 6th wicket.
Number six Nida Rashid Dar hammered 87 runs off 111 balls featuring eight fours and two sixes while number seven batter Aliya Riaz contributed 61 runs off 82 deliveries hitting four boundaries and two over boundaries.
