Anti-liberation forces and killers of Bangabandhu are always trying to make Bangladesh a ‘failed state’: PM to AL activists
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said the anti-liberation forces and killers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are always active in trying to make Bangladesh a “failed state”.
"We should always keep in mind that Bangladesh is our country. We had earned our independence. The anti-liberation elements and the killers of the Father of the Nation are always active to make Bangladesh a failed state," she told Awami League leaders and activists.
Sheikh Hasina said this during her closing remarks while exchanging greetings with party leaders and activists at Ganabhaban after she was reelected AL President for the 10th consecutive term.
The PM said other governments had tried to turn the country into a failed state for 29 years — from 1975 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2009.

As Awami League could come to power for three consecutive terms through elections, getting the votes of people since 2009, now Bangladesh has attained the status of a developing country and its people have got dignity, she said.
She said that only one decision to build Padma Bridge with own funds has immensely brightened the image of Bangladesh in the world.
Sheikh Hasina said Awami League's source of power is the people. "The general people who support us are the greatest source of power for us. So, every leader and activist will have to work for the welfare of the common people," she added.

Anti-liberation forces are still active: Quader
Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said the anti-liberation forces are still plotting to destablise the country even after 51 years of victory.
“Communal forces, militants are conspiring to thwart the joy of victory,” he told reporters after paying tributes to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar.

Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, also urged the pro-liberation forces to come forward to resist them.
AL presidium member Abdur Rahman, publicity secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap were also present.
Earlier, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also paid tributes to the heroes of 1971 at the National Memorial.

Anti-liberation forces want to see ‘famine’ in Bangladesh: Minister
Some anti-liberation forces and so-called intellectuals want to see a famine in Bangladesh, said Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque on Friday.
These people will be disappointed as there will be no famine nor any food shortage in the country, he said.
The Minister said this while distributing food and clothes among the destitute ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr at Shyampur Model School premises in the capital on Friday.

Awami League's Dhaka South unit organized the event.
“We have all kinds of preparations to face any kind of crisis," he said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government has given utmost importance to food security, the minister added.
Saying that the country has record food stock he declared, as long as Sheikh Hasina is in power, there will never be a food crisis or famine in the country.

The minister said the BNP-alliance also wanted to see Bangladesh's failure to deal with Covid-19. But the prime minister has handled the Corona situation very successfully.
Relief and Social Welfare Secretary of Awami League Sujit Roy Nandi, Dhaka South Awami League General Secretary Humayun Kabir, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Azahar also spoke at the event.
