Jannatul Ferdous, vice-president of Eden Mohila College unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League(BCL), has been injured in an attack allegedly by the followers of its president and general secretary. Eden College Chhatra League President Tamanna Jasmine Riva and General Secretary Razia Sultana beat up Jannatul Ferdous at Begum Razia dormitory of the college for giving an interview to the media about extortion and seat trading in the college, said students. A tense situation has been prevailing on the campus over the incident and protest rallies and counter rallies were held after the incident. Read: Eden College: BCL president threatens to drive out some students On September 22, Jannatul Ferdous gave an interview to the media alleging various irregularities, extortion, seat trading and hall occupation by BCL president and general secretary.  Two days after the interview, the followers BCL president and general secretary threatened to remove her from the hall around 11 pm on Saturday .  Contacted, Jannatul Ferdous said, "I was outside the hall.  Razia's followers entered my room to create trouble.  Later, my roommates called me and I returned to hall and talked to some girls.  As soon as I came to the hall, followers of Razia beat me up and snatched  my phone." Tamanna Jesmin Riva and Razjia Sultana didn’t respond to the call of the UNB correspondent. However, BCL has formed a two-member probe committee to investigate the incident.  

A case has been filed in New Market police station accusing 12 students by name and some anonymous too over the incident of Dhaka College students' infighting between two halls' residents. Contacted, Officer in-charge of New Market police station Abdul Latif said, "one of the injured students lodged a case accusing 12 students and some anonymous of Dhaka College." We will take proper action aginst the culprits," he added. On the other hand, Dhaka College principal denied the fact the last night's fighting of the students of the two halls.  

At least 20 people were injured in rough-and-tumble fighting between two factions of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Barguna unit during a National Mourning Day discussion Monday. It happened around 11am at Barguna Shilpakala Academy premises when district BCL President Rezaul Kabir Reza, General Secretary Taushikur Rahman Imran, Senior Vice-President Sabuj Mollah and Central BCL Member Rishat Hassan Prince and their followers came to attend the programme.  The groups got into a scuffle following a heated argument during the discussion. "Later police had to use batons to bring the situation under control." "Two BCL activists were held from the spot, and several of them suffered injuries. Also, four sharp weapons were recovered from a room of Barguna Launch Terminal," Tariqul added. Since July 24, after the new committee of the Barguna BCL was announced, there have been sporadic clashes between BCL activists and leaders who were included in and excluded from it.

A city Chattra League leader was injured at the Shaheed Minar allegedly by a central  BCL leader while paying homage to language heroes on Monday, witnesses said  The injured Ehsanul Haque Yasir is the former secretary of relief and disaster management of Dhaka city(south) BCL and accused Benzir Hossain Nishi is the  central joint-general secretary of central Chhatra League committee. The incident took place in the early hours of Monday at the central Shaheed Minar.  However, Benazir Hossain Nishi has denied the allegation. Ehsanul Haque Yasir received first aid treatment at Dhaka medical college hospital.   Earlier in the morning, while placing wreaths on behalf of the hall branches of Dhaka University Chhatra League, a fight broke out among some members armed with bamboo sticks, witnesses said.   Read: DU student accuses a BCL activist of slapping him Chhatra League leaders and activists created chaos in front of the altar.  At that time the leaders and workers of Jagannath Hall and Shahidullah Hall were staying there.  At that time, they were seen running towards each other with bamboo sticks used for carrying banners.  Also on Monday Chhatra League leaders and activists clashed in front of the entrance of the altar of Shaheed Minar, according to witnesses.

At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League during a rally on Dhaka University campus on Tuesday, witnesses said. Acording to  witnesses the clash occurred between groups from Jasimuddin Hall and Dhaka College near Aparajeyo Chattar of Bat Tala.  The rally was held to mark the 74th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League. Read: DU student 'assaulted' for missing BCL event ahead of hall conference They first engaged in fist fights and then used bamboo sticks during the cladh that erupted over competition to take places in front of the rally. Dhaka University unit BCL President Al Nahian Khan Joy and General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee were injured as they tried to stop the fighting, said wtinesses at the scene. Several of the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of police camp there.

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was killed in an infighting between its two factions at Arefin Nagar in Chattogram city on Sunday night.
