PM pays homage to August 15 martyrs
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday paid rich tributes to August 15 martyrs at the Banani graveyard.
The Prime Minister along with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana went to the Banani graveyard and paid homage by placing wreath on Sunday morning.
After laying the wreath, they stood in solemn silence for some time.

They also spread flower petals on the graves.
Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana also offered Fateha and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs of August 15.
At the Banani graveyard, their mother Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesa Mujib, brothers Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal, and Sheikh Russel and other martyrs of August 15, 1975 were laid to eternal rest.
Bangabandhu, his spouse Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesa Mujib, their three sons– Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal, and Sheikh Russel – and most of the family members of Bangabandhu and his three close relatives were assassinated on the fateful night of 15 August, 1975 by a group of disgruntled army men.
Two daughters of Bangabandhu -- incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Rehana -- could escape the carnage as they stayed abroad at that time.
Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam was present on the occasion.

PM pays homage to Bangabandhu at Tungipara
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
She placed a wreath at Bangabandhu’s grave at 10:45 am and stood there for a while in solemn silence as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the architect of Bangladesh's independence. He was assassinated by some disgruntled army men on the dreadful night of August 15, 1975 along with most members of his family.

A contingent of Army soldiers presented guard of honour and played bugle on the occasion.
The premier offered fateha and raised hands in prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu.

PM Hasina started from Ganabhaban at 8 am for her ancestral home in Tungipara by road. She crossed the Padma Bridge for the second time after its opening and paid a total of Tk 25,750 toll at the Mawa toll plaza.
Enroute to Tungipara the PM's motorcade briefly paused on the bridge.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
The Prime Minister paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his shrine there.
After laying the wreath, Sheikh Hasina stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of independence.

Bangabandhu’s younger daughter Sheikh Rehana was also present. They offered fateha and joined a special munajat seeking eternal peace of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage.
