A homemaker and a man allegedly commit suicide in Chapainawabganj: Police
A man and a woman - alleged to be in extramarital relationship- died by hanging in Gomastapur upazila of Chapainawabganj, said police and locals on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Tushi Khatun, 24, wife of an expatriate of Khairabad area under Rohanpur municipality of the upazila, and Rakib Hossain, 28, of Argarhat area of nearby Shibganj upazila.
Police and locals said there had long been an extramarital relationship between them and the youth entered the housewife’s room at 10pm.
But the woman's mother-in-law sensed the presence of the youth and asked her to open the door of her room several times, but there was no response.

As she didn’t respond for long, the mother-in-law screamed seeking help of neighbours who rushed to the house and saw the bodies hanging from a wooden pile, connecting two ends of the ceiling, with a scarf through the window of her room, according to them.
Tushi was the mother of two children.
Gomastapur police station’s Officer-in-Charge Khairul Bashar said being informed they recovered the bodies from the house and sent to the 250-bed general hospital in the district for autopsy.

Woman, her lover to die for killing husband in Sirajganj
A Sirajganj court on Tuesday sentenced a woman and her lover to death for killing her husband in 2019 following an extramarital relationship.
Sirajganj District and Sessions Judge Fazle Khoda Mohammad Nazir handed down the judgment.

The condemned convicts are --Mukti Khatun, 22, daughter of late Mukta Sheikh of Shaktipur village in Shahjadpur upazila and Saidul Islam Tushar alias Tuhin.
According to the prosecution, Mukti Khatun, wife of Monirul Haque Pramanik , had love affair with Tuhin before her marriage and it continued after the marriage.
Thinking Monirul an obstacle in the way of their relationship, Mukti along with Tuhin strangled him to death in her grandfather's house on June 3, 2019.

Monirul’s son Jailhaq Pramanik filed a case in this regard.
After examining the records and witnesses, the judge pronounced the judgment in the presence of the accused.

Man killed over extramarital affair in Chattogram; wife arrested
A man was allegedly killed by his wife over extramarital relationship at Telipara village under Barabkunda in Sitakunda upazila on Saturday.
Police recovered the body of Joynal Abedin alias Kala, 37 from a pond adjacent to his house in the area.
Quoting family sources, Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, said Joynal got married to Rima Akter eleven years ago. The couple has been blessed with two daughters.

Recently, Rima developed an extramarital affair with Shahadat, son of Shahabuddin.
The couple used to lock into altercations over the issue.
On Saturday morning, local people spotted the body of Joynal in the pond and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to the local hospital morgue for autopsy.
The body bore a stab mark and pennis of the Joynal was also found cut off, said police.
However, police arrested Rima from Barabkunda bazar while she was trying to escape the scene.
