An accused, who reportedly  killed a fish trader, was beaten to death by locals at Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi district on Friday. The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 31, of Atrai upazila in Naogaon district. Touhidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station, said Aminul stabbed Abdur Razzak, 33, a fish trader, to death over previous enmity at Ranshibazar while he was having tea at a tea stall around 5:30 pm. 40-year-old man killed over land dispute in Rajshahi Being chased by the local people, Aminul ran away and took shelter at a house around 7:30 pm. At one stage, locals caught Aminul, breaking open the door of the house and beat him mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot. Two policemen, including sub-inspector Sadiqul Islam, were injured when they tried to resist the locals from entering the house.

A 32-year-old man was killed by a lynch-mob attack Dhan Gobeshona Road in Barishal city on Saturday for alleged rape attempt. Sujon was severely beaten in the area in the evening died at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (Shebachim) Hospital around 8 pm while undergoing treatment, said OC Mizanur Rahman of Kotwali Model Police Station. Earlier, a man filed a complaint at Kotwali Police Station against Sujon for attempting to rape his daughter. According to the complaint, on Friday at 1:30 pm, the child was sent to Sujon's house, a neighbour, to return a cooking pot. Sujon, who was alone at home, attempted to rape the child and when the child screamed he fled, it said. Two suspected robbers killed in Shariatpur lynch-mob attack Following the complaint, police conducted a primary investigation in the area on Saturday evening. When locals came to know the matter they caught Sujon and beat him up mercilessly, leaving him critically injured. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. However, Sujon's family alleged that he was falsely accused and killed due to a long-standing enmity. "If Sujon was guilty, he should have been punished through the legal system. Why was he killed without a trial?" asked Sujon's uncle Manik Mridha and demanded justice for those responsible. SI Manik Saha of Kotwali Police Station said that Sujon's body is currently at the SBMCH morgue and will be handed over to his family after an autopsy. Man killed in lynch-mob attack in Chapainawabganj The process of registering the child’s father's complaint as a formal case was underway, the OC said. He added that legal action would be taken if a complaint is filed regarding Sujon's death by mob lynching.  

A man was killed in a lynch-mob attack on Thursday morning after allegedly attacking a local mosque's imam in the Shimultala area of Sadar Upazila in Chapainawabganj.  Mizu Islam was severely beaten by locals around 8 am after he stabbed Imam Mohammad Hossain, said police and witnesses. Harunur Rashid, a resident of the same area, was also injured while attempting to save the imam. Four killed, 10 injured in Tangail road crash Mizu was taken to the 250-bed district hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Mizu had long been involved in drug dealing, said S.M. Zakaria, officer-in-charge of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station. It is believed he attacked imam Hossain out of anger after the local anti-drug committee provided information about him to the police, he said. The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.

A suspected robber was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Rajendrapur in Gazipur district in the small hours of Saturday, said police. The deceased was identified as Rakib, 27, son of Alamgir H ossain of Joydebpur upazila. He was wanted in four robbery cases. Mahtab Uddin, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur Police Station, said garment worker Hashi Akter, 19 along with her colleague Ilias Hossain was heading towards Rajendrapur Haldoba area to visit one their colleague’s house in the  evening. Also read: Three robbers lynched in Manikganj, two die When they reached near Rakkhitpara, a group of miscreants intercepted them and took Hashi to Rakkhitpara forest after beating Ilias up mercilessly. Later, they tied Hashi to a tree and tried to realise ransom. At one stage, Ilias informed the matter to the local people and sought help. Local people then besieged the forest and caught Rakib around 12:30 am while the others managed to flee the scene. They also gave him a good thrashing, leaving him injured. On information, police rescued Hashi and Rakib and took him to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Hashi lodged a complaint with Joydebpur Police at  night.

Three suspected robbers were killed in a lynch-mob attack at Ilungdi in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj district early Thursday. Two of the deceased were identified as Zahirul, 35, and Mofazul, 30, of Sonargaon upazila of the district. Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Araihazar Police Station, said local people challenged the trio early Thursday seeing their suspicious movement in the area. Two suspected robbers were killed in a lynch-mob attack at Gunipur in Lakhai upazila of Habiganj district early Sunday.   The deceased were identified as Abdul Hamid, 42, of Dharmandal village of Brahmanbaria district and Humayun Mia, 40 of Madhabpur upazila in the district.   Mohiuddin Sumon, officer-in-charge of Lakhai Police Station, said a group of robbers numbering 9/10 swooped on the house of one Jalal Mia around 1:30 am and kept the house inmates hostages at gunpoint. Also read: Mob beats alleged cattle thief to death in Bogura   Sensing presence of the robbers, Jalal informed the matter to his neighbours over phone.   Later, local people encircled the house and managed to catch two robbers while the others managed to flee the scene.   Also read: Mob beats man to death in Khulna The angry mob then gave the robbers a good thrashing,  leaving them dead on the spot.   Police recovered the bodies.
