PITCH extends helping hand to cancer patient cricketer, umpire
PITCH Foundation, a voluntary organisation formed recently to support the game of cricket, extended financial aid to cancer patient cricketer and umpire— Mosharaf Hossain Rubel and Nadir Shah.
In a press release, PITCH Foundation said that they handed over Tk 2 lakhs to each of them.
Former national captain Naimur Rahman and seasoned cricket organiser Iftekhar Ahmed handed over the cheques respectively to Nadir and Rubel recently.
PITCH Foundation, launched on February 13 this year, is set up to provide assistance to individuals related to cricket through donations and sponsorship, alongside medical assistance.
“We've formed PITCH Foundation in order to help the needy and will be doing the same in future,” PITCH Foundation General Secretary Obeid R Nizam told reporters on Sunday.
“A countless number of individuals who've worked tirelessly throughout their lives for the game are now in need of support. This is where PITCH Foundation wants to step in.”
