Samsung Galaxy A72 Full Review: Is it worth buying?
Samsung has added another high-performance smartphone to its Galaxy A series. The series has already become known worldwide for presenting some top-end smartphones to users. The added latest model is A72. It has, like all other phones of the series, stimulated people’s attention. On its surface, the phone is a combination of a selected few Galaxy phones like A52, A71, and several others from the Galaxy S series. However, the endeavour becomes praiseworthy because of the Galaxy A72’s comparatively low price. Keep on reading this Samsung Galaxy A72 review, if you are curious about a smartphone and want to know is it really worth it for its price.
Key Features of Samsung Galaxy A72
Design
Among all the other features of A72, its design has made it stand out from mainstay glass and metal tradition. The Samsung Galaxy A72 features attractive candy-like colour schemes. In addition, the phone shows delicacy in detailed finishing. It will be a delight to hold the phone in hand.
The A72 is made of polycarbonate, while the mid-frame is metal. Just like the A52. The back of the phone is plastic made. But the matte textured back can hide this fact giving a metal look. The only reason for Samsung to use a plastic body is to check for any further weight gain. Because with even the plastic body, A72 weights 203g.
The candy-light colour brings a fresh feel to the overall look of the phone. The camera bump on the back has verisimilitude with the ones from Galaxy S21 series. However, the bump is not too steep and don’t look unnatural. The cameral holding rings are well furnished and give a somewhat visual flair. The pastel paint colour work gives an artistic tone.
The power, as well as the volume buttons, are placed on the right side of the phone, the sim tray is on top of the phone, while the primary speaker, as well as a 3.5 mm jack, are at the bottom-placed on either side of a type-C USB port.

Display
Like its peer A52, A72 has a 6.7-inch display. It is a full HD with a resolution of 2400×1800 and 800 nits of brightness. When it comes to customizability, the phone gives only two options. Users can choose from Natural or Vivid colour modes. They can also tweak the white balance.
The newly implemented 90HZ AMOLED display is arguably the biggest change made by Samsung this year. With such a higher refresh rate, manoeuvring feels smooth on the phone.

Camera
Just like the Galaxy A52, the Samsung Galaxy A72 has four rear cameras and one secondary camera on the front. The four rear cameras include a primary camera of 64MP, an ultrawide 12MP angle 12MP camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera along with a 5MP macro camera. The secondary front camera is 32 MP. A72 just replaces the 5MP telephoto camera of A52.
The camera performance of the Samsung Galaxy A72 is much like those of the Galaxy 52. It comes with enabled OIS, which satisfies the snapping experience. Both phones deliver similar results, though. In daylight, the phone takes less time to focus. Even in indoor condition, all cameras show quick response. The credit goes to the OIS feature. The colour restoration is more accurate in daylight and other places with good lighting condition.

Performance
Galaxy A72 incorporates Snapdragon 720G. This version of the Snapdragon comprises 2 Kryo 465 Gold cores. The maximum clock speed of these processors is 2.3 GHz. The other 6 Kryo 465 silver cores have up to 1.8GHz clock speed.
To process the graphics, A72 uses the Adreno 618 GUI. Many features are common with the A52 features. But higher Ram and Storage capacities, Samsung Galaxy A72 perform better. The phone introduces two variants. One is of 6GB RAM with 128GB memory, and of 8GB RAM with 256GB ROM.
Samsung Galaxy A72 is i67 qualified. That means the phone is completely water and dust protected.

Battery and Charging
Galaxy A72 comes with a 5000 mAh battery, which is definitely an upgrade from its sibling A52, which has a 4,500 mAh battery. But they both show similar endurance lasting over a day and a half with mild to heavy use. It should be the A72’s 0.2” larger screen that is making the difference.
If considered without drawing any line or comparison, the battery performance won’t let anybody down. Regular users are already praising the battery life offered. Another mentionable aspect is the phone has a 90Hz refresh rate. It lets users enjoy all the best features without worrying about battery life.
The charger is 25W and takes around one and a half hour to charge the phone from 0 to 100%.

POCO X3 Pro: Review of Key Features
Design
POCO X3 Pro maintains its bulky structure featuring about 9.4mm width and 215g weight, which we have got in the predecessor X3. It may be uncomfortable for many people to hold the X3 Pro with one hand. Except for the front glass, the device is built with plastic material (or Glasstic). It has IP53 certified dust and splash protection feature.
On the right side, POCO X3 Pro has the volume rocker and a side-mounted power button. The power button also serves as a fingerprint scanner. On the left side, there is a SIM card tray with a Hybrid slot for a Micro SD card. So, you either use two SIMs or insert one SIM and a memory card at a time.
The upper edge holds a secondary noise-cancellation microphone, IR bluster, and speaker grill. The bottom edge is packed with the main speaker, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Its bezels are thin. On the top center of the display, it bears a punch-holed selfie camera. POCO X3 Pro has several color options like Phantom Black, Metal Bronze, and Frost Blue.

Display
Here you get 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen. It offers a Full HD display featuring 1080 by 2400 pixels resolution, 20:9 ratio with ~395 ppi density. The front screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It offers HDR 10 support.
The color reproduction is satisfactory but still, it lags behind the vibrant colors offered by the AMOLED screens. It is somewhat disappointing, as several low-priced competitors (like Redmi Note 10) are offering AMOLED screens in this price range.
Like the ancestor POCO X3, the Pro version sports a 120Hz refresh rate. It also offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate! You can enjoy a butter-smooth navigating experience by virtue of its high refresh rate option. Its touch response is awesome.
In this phone, POCO provides 450 nits typical and 534 nits peak brightness. It maintains standards allowing you to work outdoor conveniently. But we have seen similar specs in X3. An updated brightness level could make X3 Pro a better deal!
In the Pro version, people will definitely expect some advanced features. Compared with its ancestor X3 NFC, the X3 Pro doesn’t offer major up-gradations in the display section. But still, the large display can be helpful for watching media or participating in virtual class/meetings.

Camera
PCO X3 Pro embodies quad rear camera series that includes 48MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro and 2MP depth camera. Certainly, it is a downgrade from POCO X3’s 64MP wide and 13MP ultra-wide sensors. On the front side of X3 Pro, there is a 20MP selfie shooter.
The main rear camera features a 48MP IMX 582 sensor with an aperture of f/1.8. In ample daylight condition, you can capture mind-blowing photos with enough details, close-to-natural color, and a nice dynamic range. Its low-light images also maintain a standard quality. In the shadow areas of the image, the objects may lose some details and color-contrast may increase. But still, the photos look attractive.
Its 8MP ultra-wide camera offers 119 degrees of field-of-view with an aperture of f/2.2. This sensor can take pretty photos maintaining dynamic range, details, and astonishing color vibration. However, in low light conditions, the image quality is comparatively poor.
The rest two cameras both feature a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. These sensors deliver average performance.

You can shoot a maximum of 4K videos at 30fps. The quality of the video is quite satisfactory. However, the provision of shooting options at 60fps could make this gadget more useful. In this phone, the GYRO EIS stabilization feature works effectively. X3 Pro offers a dual video mode option that means you can shoot videos with both front and back cameras at a time. Besides this, it has a Time Lapse video option which can be helpful for Vloggers.
The front camera features a 20MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. This camera is built with Samsung ISOCELL plus S5K3T2 sensor. In presence of proper lights, this sensor can capture good photos with proper edge detection and color punches. The color tones are close to natural. You can also apply beauty mode to smoothen the skin tones. However, the quality of images may reduce a bit in low-light situations. Still, the images are social media-ready and eye-catching. With the front camera, you can capture 1080pfootage at 30fps.

Performance: Software and Hardware
POCO X3 Pro has been globally launched in three variants; those are 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, and 8/256GB. You can insert a memory card into this phone and extend the storage up to 1 TB. Here POCO offers UFS 3.1 data transfer technology which is an up-gradation from X3 NFC’s UFS 2.1 mechanism.
POCO X3 Pro runs by MIUI 12 OS for POCO on top of Android 11. Compared with the other Xiaomi phones, POCO MIUI 12 operating system is cleaner and faster. The clever hardware-software optimization boosts up the performance of this phone.
In the processor section, POCO X3 Pro’s octa-core processor is blessed with Qualcomm Snapdragon’s 860 chipset built on 7nm architecture. In its octa-core CPU, you get one Kryo 485 Gold core with a maximum clock speed of 2.96 GHz; and three other Kryo 485 Gold cores feature 2.42 GHz clock speed. And, the rest four Kryo 485 Silver cores offer a maximum of 1.78 GHz clock speed. In the graphic unit, this POCO phone offers Adreno 640 GPU.
You can smoothly do multi-tasking and regular tasks with this gadget. Even after running several apps in the background the mobile works fine. Both the fingerprint scanner and face unlock works very fast.
POCO X3 Pro comes with an exceptional feature called 'surround sound experience'. By virtue of this feature, you can clearly hear the sound, even if the phone is placed several feet away. Whether you are watching a web series/movie/song or playing a game, the sound quality of POCO X3 is breathtaking!

For heavy-duty gamers, POCO X3 Pro can be a nice choice. You can play PUBG at Ultra HD graphics at an Ultra frame rate. Surprisingly, at high-level settings, the game runs smoothly without experiencing any lags or frame drops. Even after hours of continuous gaming, you can hardly face any stuttering. The COD games can be playable on this device at ‘Very High’ graphics under ‘Max’ frame rate. The intelligent hardware-software optimization of X3 Pro can make the game lively and superbly enjoyable. The Asphalt 9 game also runs smoothly on this Smartphone.
After a long time of gaming, the device may catch some heat. But don’t worry! Its advanced cooling mechanism reduces the temperature shortly.
This phone supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, and 5GHz. The call quality is good.
Overall, the outstanding performance of X3 Pro makes it a true flagship killer.
Battery
POCO X3 Pro is powered by a 5160mAh non-removable battery. It is a downgrade from X3’s 6000 mAh battery. However, still X3 Pro can provide one to two days of backup depending upon usage.
Poco X3 Pro is supported by a 33W charger. It takes about half an hour to acquire 59% charge; while about one hour time is required to fully recharge this phone.
