Chittagong Kings will battle with Khulna Tigers in Qualifier -2 match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket on Wednesday (February 5). The match will kick-off at 6:30 pm at the home of Bangladesh Cricket-- Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The winners of the match will earn the rights to play in the final against defending champions Fortune Barishal on February 7 at the same venue. Tamim Iqbal –led Fortune Barishal reached the final of the ongoing seven-team BPL for the 2nd consecutive times crushing Chittagong Kings by nine wickets with 16 balls remaining in the Qualifier-1 Monday evening. National all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz-led Khulna Tigers stayed in the title race eliminating Rangpur Riders also by nine wickets in the Eliminator on Monday afternoon On completion of 12 league basis matches earlier, Fortune Barisal finished top securing 18 points with net run rate of 1.302 while Chittagong Kings became 2nd collecting 16 points with net run rate of 1.395 to play in the Qualifiers -1. Rangpur Riders was placed 3rd also with 16 points with net run rate of 0.596 while Khulna Tigers finished 4th securing 12 points having a run rate of 0184 to play in the eliminators. BPL Cricket: Fortune Barishal will play Chittagong Kings in Qualifier 1 After the league matches, both the Chittagong Kings and Rangpur Riders have secured 16 points each, but, Chittagong Kings finished 2nd to reach qualifiers-1 by virtue of better net run rate and  Rangpur Riders went down to the 3rd slot to play in the eliminator. Three other teams of the seven-team BPL —Durbar Rajshahi (12 Pts), Dhaka Capitals (6 Pts) and and Sylher Strikers (4 Pts) –were eliminated from the league.

Khulna Tigers, riding on Mohammad Naim’s century, keep their hope alive to reach the play-off stage of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket with one match to spare beating Rangpur Riders by 46 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday. Despite of the day’s 4th consecutive defeat, Rangpur Riders reached the best two team’s “qualifiers” from the seven-team league alongwith league leader Fortune Barishal securing 16 and 18 points respectively, playing 12 and 11 matches. Khulna Tigers have secured 10 points from 11 matches to stay in the race and will play their remaining match with lowly Dhaka Capitals on February 1. BPL Cricket: Fortune Barishal take solo lead to reach qualifiers crushing Dhaka Capitals by 5 wickets Chittagong Kings and Durbar Rajshahi are ahead of Khulna Tigers collecting 12 points each playing 10 and 12 matches respectively.  However, Chittagonmg Kings playing lowly Sylhet Strikers Thursday evening and will face league leader Fortune Barisal on February 1. In the day’s do or die match, Khulna Tigers batted first after winning the toss and piled up a huge total of 220 runs for 4 in stipulated 20 overs featuring a brilliant century by opener Mohammad Naim. Mohammad Naim hammered 111 runs off just 62 balls featuring seven four and eight sixes and was adjudged the player of the match. Besides, William Bosisto (36), Mahidul Islam Ankon (29), captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz (21), and Alex Ross (12) were the other notable scorers for Khulna Tigers. BPL Cricket: Chittagong Kings almost assures play-off berth beating Rangpur Riders Akif Javed, Iftikar Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan took one wicket each  In reply, Rangpur Riders were forced to fold their innings at 174 for 9 in quota 20 overs with national colored opener Soumya Sarkar contributing the team highest 74 runs off 48 balls hitting six four and five sixes. Besides, Mahedi Hasan (27),. Iftikar Ahmed (19) , Mohammad Saiffun (18), Rakibul Hasan 14) were main scorers for Rangpur Riders reaching double digit runs. Tamim Iqbal-led Fortune Barishal advanced to the qualifiers stage  of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)  with two matches to spare beating Khulna Tigers by five wickets with five balls remaining at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday. After the day’s victory, Fortune Barishal have secured 16 points from ten matches (net run rate 1.033) to reach the qualifiers of the play-off stage as the best two teams of the league alongside Rangpur Riders, who dominated the league with better run rate (1.070) also collecting 16 points from ten matches. In their remaining league matches, Fortune Barishal will play Dhaka Capital on January 29 and Chittagong Kings on February 1 while Rangpur Riders will face Chittagong Kings on January 29 and Khulna Tigers on January 30. English cricketer Dawid Malan was the main architect for Fortune Barishal victory quick-firing 63 runs off just 37 balls with the help of eight boundaries and three over boundaries. Graham Clark’s century propelled Chittagong Kings to a 45-run win over Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Thursday. It was Chittagong’s fourth win in five matches. They are now in second place on the points table with eight points. Rangpur Riders are leading the table with 14 points in seven wins. Rangpur extend unbeaten run with win over Khulna Chittagong posted 200 for 7 while batting first. Clark’s explosive 101 off just 50 balls guided them to a challenging total. His knock, featuring seven boundaries and six towering sixes, set the tone for the home side. Parvez Hossain Emon scored 39 off 29 deliveries, but the middle order failed as Mohammad Nawaz and Salman Irshad each claimed three wickets to keep Chittagong in check. Chasing 201, Khulna crumbled under the pressure, losing wickets regularly. Darwish Rasooli top-scored with 37 off 31 balls, while skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 19 off 8 balls.However, Khulna’s momentum was repeatedly disrupted by Chittagong’s disciplined bowling unit. In the other match of the day, Fortune Barishal beat Dhaka Capitals by eight wickets. Dhaka batted first and scored 139, with Tanzid Hasan Tamim scoring 62 off 44 balls. Khulna Tigers clinched an easy win defeating the Chattogram Challengers by 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare in the 4th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 on Saturday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Chattogram Challengers, batting first, faced early setbacks but managed to post a competitive total of 121 in their allotted 20 overs on the tricky surface of Mirpur. The Comilla Victorians made remarkable history in Tuesday's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match, succeeding in their chase of a target surpassing 200 runs and defeating the Khulna Tigers in Sylhet. Khulna Tigers put up a strong score with contributions from Tamim Iqbal and Shai Hope, scoring 95 and 91 runs respectively, setting a total of 210 for 2 wickets. However, the highlight of the match was Johnson Charles from the Comilla Victorians, who scored an impressive century with 107 runs and 11 sixes. Comilla started off on the backfoot with early losses from Litton Das and Imrul Kayes while chasing a big target, but a crucial third-wicket partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Johnson Charles of 122 runs sealed a fantastic victory for the Victorians. Rizwan made a significant contribution of 73 runs with 4 sixes. Comilla achieved their chase with 7 wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare, marking their sixth consecutive win and moving up to third place in the points table with 6 wins in 9 matches. Sylhet Strikers ensured the playoff berth as the first team of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2023 with a commanding 31-run win over Khulna Tigers Monday. This was the Strikers' eighth win in ten matches, a testament to their dominant performance throughout the tournament. Put in to bat first, the Strikers scored 192-4 in 20 overs. Towhid Hridoy and Zakir Hasan scored 74 and 50 runs, respectively. Despite a strong effort from the Tigers bowlers, led by Mark Deyal who took two wickets for 40 runs in four overs, the Strikers proved too strong for them. Chasing 193, the Tigers managed to score 161-9 in 20 overs. Shai Hope and Azam Khan scored 33 runs each.
