Alamgir 'alive, breathing and recovering'
Legendary Dhallywood actor Alamgir, who is fighting COVID-19, debunked the rumours of his death news as a hoax, informing media that he is recovering well.
The record 9-time National Award-winning legendary actor is currently undergoing treatment at the Green Life Medical College Hospital in the capital.

Clarifying his latest health status, the eminent actor informed media on Friday that he is recovering well and hopefully will return home in a couple of days.
Earlier, his wife and eminent singer Runa Laila informed about his COVID-19 positive status via a Facebook post on April 20, saying: "Alamgir Sahab has tested positive for Covid 19. He’s being treated in a local hospital by a team of excellent doctors, nurses and hospital staff who are monitoring him and taking very good care. He is in excellent spirits and is doing well. Masha’Allah."
On February 14, Alamgir and singer Runa Laila along with their children including singer Akhi Alamgir received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine. They took the second dose on April 17.
Against the ongoing trend to throw fake-news and hoax regarding celebrity health updates, actor Omar Sani has recently expressed his frustration on social media. From his official Facebook profile, he wrote that the government should take the issue seriously and the Ministry of Information should implement a proper guideline regarding this annoying nuisance.
"In order to earn easy money, these sites and YouTube channels have killed me, my wife (prominent actress Mousumi), late actor ATM Shamsuzzaman when he was alive and now Alamgir sahab as well who is considered as the iconic father-figure of our cinema - and they have done it several times, spreading baseless hoaxes. How many rumours we need to monitor these under an appropriate guideline? I urge our Information ministry to take this issue under serious consideration," Sani expressed his frustration.
Considered as one of the most-prominent and significant personas in the history of Dhallywood, Alamgir is a golden-era flag-bearer of Bangladeshi cinema with his nine National Film Awards as a lead (seven times) and supporting (two) actor.
