Electronics giant Walton has registered 450% growth in the sales of its air conditioners (ACs) during the January-April of this year, compared to the same time of last year. Walton AC Chief Executive Officer Md Tanvir Rahman said, "Considering the Covid-19 situation, we introduced some new models of ACs with inverter technology." Walton AC Research and Development Department Head Engineer Ariful Islam, said: "Our new models are up to 70% energy-efficient. These ACs have dual defender ioniser and UV care technology to kill or destroy bacteria, viruses, odours and fumes inside the room." In addition to the split ACs, Walton is producing and marketing 4 and 5-tonne cassettes and ceiling type ACs for medium installations such as schools-colleges, mosques, madrasas, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, and conference halls, read a press release.
