Xiaomi Redmi K40 v POCO F3: The flagship killer Phones of 2021
Xiaomi, the uncrowned king of low-budgeted high-end smartphones, befuddled its users back in March this year. This celebrated smartphone manufacturing company launched two models with nearly the same features within a few days' intervals. The world got introduced to the Redmi K40 on March 4. Only a few days later, Xiaomi launched its clone version under the POCO banner on Mach 21 and named it POCO F3. While both phones share the same configuration, they are tagged with different prices. This Xiaomi Redmi K40 v Poco F3 review will debunk the reasons behind their different prices and the differences (if any) between the two models.
Xiaomi Redmi K40 v POCO F3 by Features Comparison
Design
As mentioned earlier, both Redmi K40 and POCO F3 share the same features. They also have the same design and structure. Their bodies are metal framed with glossy finishing at the back. Both of its front and back sides features the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Both phones have a thickness of 7.8mm, which is fairly moderate, and weigh 196g. So, they are not heavy and not also very thin or lightweight. They have a height of 163.7mm and a width of 76.4mm.
When it comes to colour, the options for both phones are the same, except the POCO F3 has introduced an extra colour named deep ocean blue.
Users will find the button and ports well placed. The volume manoeuvre, along with the power button, is placed on the right side of the body. Here, the regular users of Xiaomi phones will experience a deviation from the norm. Like other models, the fingerprint sensor is still merged with the power button. But the past design having a pop-up, recessed button has changed. Redmi K40 and POCO F3 have a sensor built-in power button that feels very neat.
On the top are two sets of holes. The right-hand side holes are for the microphone and IR Bluster. The left-hand side holed are for the top stereo speakers. There is nothing placed on the left side of the body. On the bottom, users will get a SIM card slot, a bottom speaker, and a Type-C USB port. And all these go for both phones.

Display
Nothing draws any line between Redmi K40 and POCO F3 in terms of display. Both integrate a 6.67” AMOLED Full HD display with a 120HZ refresh rate. Now, this is what you can call a flagship killer attribute. Such a high refresh rate provides a smooth touch-feel. The touch sampling rate of these phones is even higher, which is 360HZ. That will give the perfect response while playing games.
With 1080*2400-pixel resolution and a pixel per index quality of 395, the 20:9 aspect ratio screen will definitely be a view. The bezel around the display is moderately narrow, and the camera punch hole is so tiny that it stays faded most of the time.

Camera
Like most other features, cameras are of identical type in Redmi 40 and POCO F3. The camera panel at the back is premium looking, just like the one of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. In addition, the circular rings around the cameras have imposed a bit of extra style on the phone.
There are three rear cameras set in the panel, which recalls the POCO X3 Pro. But these phones overhaul the experience even better by replacing the depth sensor with an autofocus macro camera. The primary camera is a 48MP wide-angle based on the 582 Quad-Bayer Sony IMX. This camera supports Night Mode.
Then comes an 8MP ultrawide snapper with enabled Night Mode. Moreover, the 5MP autofocus tele-macro lens just enhances the overall experience.
The front camera is a 20MP fixed focus lens with a tetra-pixel sensor.
Pictures taken with these cameras are detailed and show quality sharpness. However, Redmi K40 develops a bit smoother photo than POCO F3, though the difference is not easily noticeable. Regardless of the available daylight, the colour reproduction and vividity look great.

Hardware
The hardware spec is exactly the same in both models. There isn’t a seed of difference here. Both of them use Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which is the second most powerful Qualcomm model after the Snapdragon 888. The octa-core processor keeps the overall performance of all-powerful components aligned and smooth. The Adreno 650 GPU will show its sign-on display colour regulation and gameplay.
Software
Now, here things get a little skewed. Because the prime difference between these two phones is in the integrated software. Both handsets use MIUI 12 software, while the one used in the Redmi K40 is the Chinese version, and POCO F3’s one is the global version.
This makes some major differences. Like the Chinese version doesn’t support google play and languages more than Chinese and English. The added management is also different in these versions.
In a broader scenario, the MIUI software is not too quality savvy. According to some claims, it drains the overall performance of the hardware section.

Battery Life
The battery used in this phone is 4,520mAh. Users can get through a single day with moderate use. Heavy use will lessen the coverage time with 120Hz and other options.
Xiaomi gives a 33W charger and claims the charger is able to charge the battery from 0 to 100% within an hour.
