The ruling Awami League candidate of Chattogram Zilla Parishad election ATM Pearul Islam said Chattogram is like Bangladesh to him, the development of Chattogram means the development of Bangladesh, and so he wants to work together with everyone for the development of Chattogram. "I worked for the mass people my whole life, I like to work for them in future too and also love to work for the development of Chattogram,," he added.         The veteran Awami Leader and chairman candidate of Chattogram Zilla Parishad ATM Pearul Islam said this when he met with the members of Chittagong Journalists Forum -Dhaka (CJFD) at the Chattogram Samity office in Dhaka Monday afternoon.  CJFD general secretary Towhidur Rahman conducted the meeting, presided by CJFD president and Head of News of The Independent Television Mamun Abdullah. President of Chattogram Samity Dhaka Joynul Abedin Jamal, general secretary Shahadat Hossain Hiro, former CJFD presidents M Wahidullah, Shahinul Islam Chowdhury, M Mustafa Kamal, Saif Islam Dilal, Shahed Siddiqui and Santosh Sharma, among others,.spoke on the occasion   Besides, former general secretary of Chattogram Samity-Dhaka Mohiul Islam Mohim and Abdul Mabud, former student league leader Shahzada Mohiuddin, former DUJ president Quddus Afrad and journalists leader Azizul Islam Bhuiyan were also present.

Mamun Abdullah of Ajker Patrika and Tawhidur Rahman of ETV have been elected the president and general secretary of the Chittagong Journalists Forum Dhaka (CJFD) for the next one year. The committee was formed at the 20th Annual General Meeting of the CJFD held in the capital Friday. A three-member Election Commission, led by senior journalist Anis Alamgir, conducted the committee formation process.  Earlier, outgoing CJFD general secretary Morshed Noman and treasurer Tawhidur Rahman presented their annual reports at the meeting. Also, Shibu Kanti Das (Purbakon) has been picked as vice-president, Rishad Huda (independent TV) joint secretary, Momena Akhter Popy (Bangladesher Khabor) finance secretary, Mohammad Naimuddin (Rising BD) office, publicity and publication secretary Iqbal Karim Nishan (GTV) and sports and cultural secretary. The executive committee members are Saif Islam Dilal (ETV), Saim Tipu (Kaler Kantho), Mujib Masud (Jugantor), Shahed Siddiqui (Independent TV), Shamim Jahangir (Daily Sun), and Morshed Noman (The Business Standard). UNB Editor Mahfuzur Rahman, former CJFD GS Enamul Haque and Santosh Sharma were also present at the meeting conducted by Morshed Noman. Masumur Rahman Khalili, Mesbahuddin Jongi, Md Mustafa Kamal, Shahinul Islam Chowdury, Anup Khastagir, Saif Islam Dilal, Saim Tipu, Fahim Ahmed, Shamim Jahangir, and Mamun Abdullah were also present.      

Journalist, writer and researcher Ahmed Momtaz breathed his last Sunday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The 61-year-old was an assistant director (press) of Bangla Academy, a member of Chittagong Journalists' Forum Dhaka (CJFD), and the former press and publication secretary of Chittagong Samiti Dhaka.
