Tidal surge likely to inundate low-lying areas of coastal districts
Under the influence of the well-marked low and steep pressure gradient, the low-lying areas of the coastal districts and their offshore island and chars are likely to be inundated by the wind driven surge height of 2-4 feet above normal astronomical tide.
These districts are Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalakathi, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barishal, Laxmipur, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No 3.
The depression over coastal Odisha and the adjoining Northwest Bay moved westwards and weakened into a well-marked low.
It now lies over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas of India, according to a special bulletin of the Met office.
It is likely to move northwestwards further.
Under its influence, steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the North Bay and the adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, as per the bulletin.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

Signal 3 for maritime ports as depression intensifies into deep depression
The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been directed to keep hoisted local cautionary signal 3 as the depression over Northwest Bay and adjoining Odisha coast intensified further into a deep depression and moved West-Northwestwards, said a Met office bulletin on Monday.
It is likely to move in a west-northwesterly direction further, it said.

Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
The met office advised all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

They were also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
Besides, the low lying coastal areas of Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira, Chattogram, Jhalakathi, Bhola, Barishal, Patuakhali, Barguna, Bhola, and Laximpur are likely to be inundated by wind-driven surge of 2-3 feet above the normal astronomical tide.

Severe cyclonic storm 'Yaas' lies over northwest Bay, adjoining area
Severe cyclonic storm "Yaas" over northwest bay and adjoining area moved northwestwards further and now lies over the same area.
It was centred at 12 noon on Tuesday about 565 kms southwest of Chattogram port, 525 kms southwest of Cox's Bazar port, 455 kms south , southwest of Mongla port and 445 kms south - southwest of Payra port, said a special bulletin of Met office.

It is likely to move northwestwadrs further and may cross West Bengal coast by Wednesday noon (26 may 2021).
Maximum sustained wind speed within 64 kms of the severe cyclone centre is about 89 kph Ristng to 117 kph in gusts or squalls.
Sea will remain high near the severe cyclone centre.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant warning signal number two (r) two.
The coastal district of Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Jhalakati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barishal, Bhola, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur and Chattogram and their offshore islands and chars are likely to experience wind speed up to 80-100 kph in gusts or squalls with heavy to very heavy falls during the passage of the storm.

Under the influence of the full moon phase, the low-lying areas of the districts of Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Jhalakati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barishal, Bhola, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur and Chattogram are likely to be inundated by 02-04 feet height above normal astronomical tide.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay and deep sea have been advised to take shelter and remain in shelter till further notice.
