BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday expressed "deep shock" at the demise of the legendary British Queen Elizabeth II. “We're deeply saddened at her death. We think she was a legendary queen and a Royal Administrator of Britain,” he said. "With the Queen’s demise, a long-standing tradition and her reign of 70 years is over," Fakhrul told reporters after placing a wreath at BNP founder Ziaur Rahman’s grave. Bangladesh on Friday declared three days of national mourning in memory of British Queen Elizabeth II who died on Thursday after 70 years on the throne. From September 9 to September 11, the national flag will be kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous organisations, educational institutions, non-government buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet division.
