Moshtaque Hossain appointed as new VC of RMU
Dr AZM Moshtaque Hossain, a retired professor of surgery at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Rajshahi Medical University (RMU) for a four-year term.
Medical Education and Family Welfare Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced Dr Moshtaque's appointment in a notification issued in Dhaka on Thursday.

In line with the approval of the President and Chancellor, Dr Moshtaque Hossain has been appointed as per Section 12 (1) of the Rajshahi Medical University Act, 2016. The order will be effective from the date of his joining.
Prof Moshtaque, who is the son of Dr MA Kashem, a former MP and MNA of Madaripur (now Shariatpur), organiser of Liberation War and Awami League leader, hails from Fatejangapur village of Shariatpur's Naria upazila.

His sister, two elder brothers and wife are also physicians.
Prof Moshtaque obtained his MBBS degree from Rajshahi Medical College.
