Low pressure likely to form over Bay Saturday: BMD
A low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay and adjoining area on Saturday as seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending its trough to North Bay.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted it in an update on Friday morning.
Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the northern part of the country and light to moderate fog may occur at places elsewhere over the country during late night till early morning, it reads.

Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in 24 hours commencing 9:00am on Friday, according to the BMD.
Night and day temperatures may fall slightly over the country, it reads.
The country’s highest temperature was recorded in Cox’s Bazar at 32.5 degree Celsius over the past 24 hours till 6pm on Thursday while the lowest temperature 14.3 degree Celsius was recorded in Panchagarh’s Tetulia till 6am on Friday.

A low pressure area is likely to form over the Central Bay of Bengal on Tuesday (October 22), according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
It also forecast rainfall and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at a few places over Khulna, Barishal & Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Chattogram divisions in 24 hours commencing 9am on Saturday.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

A low pressure area has formed over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining area.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in 24 hours from 9am on Monday, said a bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Besides, Southwest monsoon has departed Bangladesh, it said.

Low pressure area intensifies into well-marked low over Bay: Met office
The low pressure area over Southeast Bay and adjoining South Andaman Sea has intensified into a well-marked low over the same area.
“It is likely to intensify further. Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area,” said a Met office bulletin on Tuesday (May 09, 2023).

Severe heat wave is sweeping Rajshahi, Netrakona, Khulna, Chuadanga and Kushtia districts and mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping other parts of Bangladesh and it may continue, it said.
Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country with chances of rain or thunders at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

Low pressure area formed over Bay; Mild heat wave may continue
A low-pressure area has been formed over Southeast Bay and adjoining South Andaman Sea.
It is likely to intensify, said the Bangladesh Metrological Department on Monday.
“Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions and Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Manikgonj, Narayangonj, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Moulvibazar, Chattogram, Rangamati, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali and Bandarban districts ,”said a BMD bulletin.
The heat wave may continue and spread, it said.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in 24 hours from 9 am today.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country during the period.

Low pressure over Southeast Bay likely to intensify into depression
A low pressure area which was formed over the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay is likely to intensify into a depression.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to watch further necessary instruction carefully, said a special bulletin of Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD).
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been advised to proceed with caution.
They are also advised no to venture into the deep sea.

Low pressure in Bay: More rains likely in 24 hrs
More rains are likely to drench Bangladesh in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Monday as the low pressure area over North Bay and adjoining central Bay now lies over Northwest Bay and adjoining West central Bay, said the weather department.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met Office bulletin.

However, the rainfall activity may decrease in next three days.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.
Dhaka recorded 12mm rainfall in 24 hours till 6am on Monday.
The weather office recorded the highest 134 mm rainfall in M.Court of Chattogram division during this period.
The mercury reached 34.0 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Tentulia of Rangpur division while the minimum temperature was recorded at 19.7 degrees in Kumarkhali of Khulna division.

Meanwhile, the axis of monsoon trough runs through East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay, as per the bulletin.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met Office bulletin.
Rainfall activity may continue in next three days.
Day temperature may fall by 1-3°C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.
Dhaka recorded 9mm rainfall on Sunday morning.

The weather office recorded the highest 50 mm rainfall in Sreemangal of Sylhet division in 24 hours till 6am on Sunday.
The mercury reached 36.5 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Tarash of Rajshahi and in Sayedpur of Rangpur, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 21.0 degrees in Kumarkhali of Khulna division.
Meanwhile, the axis of monsoon trough runs through East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay, as per the bulletin.
