19 more Covid patients die at Khulna hospitals
Nineteen more people have died of Covid-19 at four different hospitals in Khulna in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Tuesday.
Ten of the patients tested positive for Covid, while the remaining showed symptoms of the virus, the officials said.

Of them, 10 died at Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital, four each at the Covid unit of Khulna General Hospital and Gazi Medical College Hospital, and one at Shahid Sheikh Abu Naser Hospital.
Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital's nodal officer Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar said that 10 people have died at the hospital in the past 24 hours. Of them, five were confirmed Covid-19 patients.
Besides, 195 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 130 are receiving treatment in the red zone, 25 in the yellow zone and 20 in the ICU (intensive care unit), said Dr Suhas.

Some 43 people have been admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours, while 42 were discharged from the hospital, he said.
An official at Gazi Medical College and Hospital said that four people have died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
Kazi Abu Rashed, spokesman for the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital, said 12 people were admitted to the medical facility in the past 24 hours and eight patients discharged after recovery.
Dr Chandra Debnath Shekhar, spokesman for Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialised Hospital, said that 44 patients are currently being treated at the hospital and of them 10 are in the ICU.

Khulna Division records 51 more single-day Covid deaths
Amid the worsening Covid-19 situation in Khulna region, health authorities recorded 51 more deaths in the division in 24 hours until Thursday morning.
During the period, 1,732 people were infected with the deadly virus.

Of the deceased, 21 people died in Khulna district, 10 in Kushtia, six in Jashore, four in Narail, three each in Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, Narail and Magura and one each in Bagerhat and Meherpur districts, said Dr Rasheda Sultana, director (Health).
In the Khulna division, the first case of Covid-19 was detected in Chuadanga on March 19, 2020.

An analysis of the district-wise covid data of the divisional health department shows that Khulna recorded the highest number of 338 infection cases in the last 24 hours. So far, 17,898 people have been infected with covid-19 and 369 people died in the district. Besides, 12,172 recovered from the disease.
Overall, 67,531 people have been infected with the virus in 10 districts of the division and the death toll from the virus reached 1,416.

Covid claims 17 more lives in Khulna
Seventeen more people have died of Covid-19 at three different hospitals in Khulna district in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Tuesday morning.
Thirteen of them succumbed to Covid-19, while the remaining four died after showing symptoms of the virus, said nodal officer at Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital, Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar.

Of the deceased, eight people died at the dedicated Covid facility of Khulna Medical College and Hospital, five succumbed to the virus at the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital and four at the private Gazi Medical College Hospital, he said.
According to him, 180 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 109 people are getting treatment in the red zone of the hospital, 31 in the yellow zone and 20 in the ICU (intensive care unit).
Some 33 people have been admitted to the hospital during the 24-hour period, while 40 were discharged from the hospital, he said.
Gazi Mizanur Rahman, owner of Gazi Medical College Hospital, said four people died of Covid-19 during the period. Besides, some 134 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, he added.
Moreover, five people died of Covid-19 at the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital while 70 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital, said Dr Kazi Abu Rashed, spokesman for the hospital.
Amid an alarming surge in Covid-19 cases and deaths over the past few weeks, Khulna division is now clamouring for oxygen.

While few hospitals in Khulna division have already run out of the life-saving gas, many other medical facilities are operating on the edge due to an acute shortage of oxygen.
During the past week, seven Covid-19 patients have died at Satkhira Medical College Hospital in Satkhira district due to the unavailability of oxygen. A probe was ordered into the deaths on June 30.

Kushtia sees 20 more Covid-related deaths
Twenty more Covid-related deaths were recorded in Kushtia in 24 hours till Monday morning, the district's second highest single-day deaths this year.
Of the total deaths, 17 people died at the Corona unit of Kushtia General Hospital while the rest 3 died in Kumarkhali upazila, said Dr MA Momen, the administrator of Kushtia General Hospital.

Sixteen of them died of Covid-19 while the rest died after showing Covid-19 symptoms, he said.
Kushtia recorded 21 Covid-related deaths on Sunday, highest in the district so far.
Besides, the district logged 292 fresh Covid cases in the past 24 hours till Monday morning.

"A total of 885 samples were tested during the period," said Dr MA Momen.
The case positivity rate in the district currently stands at 30.30%.
So far, 8,766 people have been found infected in the district while 245 people died of Covid-19.
Some 5,823 people have recovered as of now.
Besides, 287 patients are currently undergoing treatment at Kushtia General Hospital with Covid related reasons.
Dr Taposh Kumar Sarkar, resident medical officer of the hospital, said: “The number of Covid-19 patients is increasing here day by day, forcing authorities to accommodate patients on the hospital floor. If the situation worsens further, it will be so tough to handle the situation with its limited manpower.”

While eight persons died at the dedicated Covid facility of Khulna Medical College, one each succumbed to Covid at the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital and the private Gazi Medical College Hospital.

Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital's nodal person Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar said a total of 198 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 105 people are getting treatment in the red zone of the hospital, 45 in the yellow zone, 20 in ICU (intensive care unit), and 20 in HDU (high deficiency unit),
On the other hand, as many as 33 new patients have been admitted to the hospital and 34 discharged after recovery since Tuesday morning.

Kazi Abu Rashed, spokesman for the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital, said that some 12 people have been admitted to the hospital and six discharged after recovery till Thursday morning.
Gazi Mizanur Rahman, owner of Gazi Medical College Hospital, said that one died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. Besides, 95 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, nine are getting treatment in ICU and ten in HDU.

Covid-19 claims 18 more lives in Khulna division in 24 hrs
Eighteen more Covid-19 patients died in Khulna division in the last 24 hours until 8 am on Thursday, a top health official said.

Of the deceased, four are from Khulna, four from Kushtia, three from Jashore, two from Chuadanga, two from Meherpur, one each from Bagerhat, Magura, and Jhinaidah districts.
During the period, some 765 people have tested positive for Covid-19 and 281 people recovered, according to Khulna Divisional Health Office.

In Khulna division, the first case of Covid-19 was detected in Chuadanga on March 19, 2020.
So far, 42,611 people have been infected with the virus in 10 districts of the division and the death toll has reached 767. A total of 33,827 people have recovered from the virus to date.
