Fakhrul visits injured political leaders in Dhaka hospitals
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday visited two political leaders, including Nurul Haque Nur, who are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Dhaka after being seriously injured in separate recent attacks.
Around noon, he went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur.
He spoke to doctors about Nur’s current condition and also spent some time with him.
Nur was critically injured during a clash last Friday in front of the Jatiya Party’s central office in Kakrail.
BNP’s Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Kamruzzaman Ratan accompanied the Secretary General during the visit.
Earlier in the day, Fakhrul visited Islami Bank Hospital in Kakrail to see Khandaker Lutfur Rahman, president of a faction of Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (Jagpa), who was also critically injured in a separate attack.
Khandaker Lutfur Rahman came under attack on Monday night at Bijoynagar Road by unidentified miscreants.
He is now receiving treatment at the hospital.
Mirza Fakhrul enquired about Lutfur’s treatment and expressed concern over the attack on him.

45 dengue patients undergoing treatment at Dhaka hospitals: DGHS
Amid an alarming spike in coronavirus deaths and infections, Bangladesh is also seeing a rise in mosquito-borne dengue in the current month.
Forty five dengue patients are currently receiving treatment at 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka. No report of hospitalization with dengue came from other districts.

Twelve dengue patients were admitted to different hospital in Dhaka in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning, according to a handout of the Directorate General of Health Services(DGHS).
A total of 247 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January and of them, 202 patients recovered.

Health authorities reported 1,193 dengue cases and three confirmed dengue-related deaths in 2020..
According to official figures, 101,354 dengue cases and 179 deaths were recorded in Bangladesh in 2019.

Dengue fever was first reported in Bangladesh in 2000 and it claimed 93 lives. In three years, the fatality number almost fell to zero.
However, the mosquito-borne viral infection struck again in 2018, killing 26, and infecting 10,148 people.
