Moghbazar blast: Death toll rises to 11
The death toll from Sunday's Moghbazar building blast rose to 11 as another man succumbed to his burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday noon.
The deceased was identified as Md Russell, 21, son of Jasim Uddin, an employee of Bengal Meat, hailing from Thakurgaon district.
Russell sustained 90 percent burns in the explosion on June 27 and since then he had been undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of the DMCH.

He breathed his last around 2:15 pm today, said Dr Partha Shankar Pal, resident medical officer of the hospital.
His body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, said Md Bachchu Mia, police inspector at the DMCH police camp.
Earlier in the day, Mohammad Nur Nabi, 30, a van-puller, died while undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
On Sunday evening, seven people were killed and more than 66 others injured after a powerful explosion ripped through a building near Moghbazar Wireless Gate.
On Tuesday, firefighters pulled out the body of a 65-year-old security guard from the debris of a three-storey building where the deadly blast occurred.

Besides, another victim, Imran Hossain, succumbed to his injuries at the burn unit of the hospital on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, police formed a seven-member committee to investigate the blast.
The committee has been asked to investigate the explosion and recommend prevention of such incidents in the future. It will also coordinate with the committee formed by the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Both the committees have seven working days to submit their reports.

Moghbazar blast: Death toll rises to nine
The death toll from Sunday's Moghbazar building blast rose to nine as one more person succumbed to his burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) early on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Imran Hossain, 25, an employee of Bengal Meat, and son of Abdul Mujib Bhuiya of Sadar upazila in Tangail district.

Imran sustained 90 percent burns in the explosion on June 27 and since then he had been undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

The body of security guard Harun-ur-Rashid was recovered around 3.30 pm, the deputy director (operations) of Fire Service and Civil Defence, Debashish Bardhan, had said.
Earlier that day, police lodged a case against unidentified persons for causing death due to negligence in connection with the blast.

An FIR in the case was filed at the Ramna police station on a complaint by sub-inspector Rezzaul Karim, Officer-in-charge Monirul Islam told UNB.

Earlier that day, Brig. Gen. Md Sazzad Hussain, director general of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that they had formed a five-member committee to investigate the explosion.
Both the committees have seven working days to submit their reports.

Moghbazar blast: Another body found in debris; death toll stands at 8
Firefighters recovered the body of a security guard from debris on Tuesday, two days after the deadly blast in a three-storey building near Moghbazar Wireless Gate.
Fire service men recovered the body of security guard Harun-ur-Rashid, 65, around 3:30 pm, said deputy director (operation) Debashish Bardhan of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Additional Police Commissioner of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will lead the committee, said a press release of Bangladesh Police Headquarters on Monday.
The committee has been asked to investigate the explosion and recommend prevention of such incidents in future. It will also coordinate with the committee formed by the Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the press release.

Moghbazar blast: Police to form probe body , IGP refuses to draw early conclusion
Police will form a probe body involving the bomb disposal unit to investigate the big blast in a building near Moghbazar Wireless Gate on Sunday evening.Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed disclosed the information to the press after visiting the site of the incident on Monday.

In case of bombings, it normally causes destructions in at least three to four directions.”He suspected the existence of methane gas behind the blast.However, the chief of police refused to draw any conclusion before a full investigation.

Moghbazar blast: 5-member probe body formed
Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters has formed a 5-member committee to investigate the big blast in a building near Moghbazar Wireless Gate on Sunday evening.
Brig Gen Md Sazzad Hussain, director general of Fire Service and Civil Defence, disclosed the information to the media after visiting the site late Sunday night.

“The committee has been asked to submit a report within 7 working days,” Md Sazzad added.
The fire service chief also suspected gas leakage as the most possible cause of the blast.

Meanwhile, police disregarded the possibility of militant involvement behind the blast.
”Splinters would have been scattered at the scene if it were a bomb blast,"said DMP Comissioner Shafiqul Islam.

Moghbazar blast: Death toll climbs to 8, fire service confirms 3
Eight people were killed following a huge blast in a building near Moghbazar Wireless Gate on Sunday evening.
The explosion occurred on the ground floor of a three-storey building around 7 pm.
A 35-year-old man, Swapan, succumbed to his injuries around 11pm at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said Dr Partha Sankar Paul at the hospital.
With this, the death toll from the blast climbed to eight.

However, sources within the Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the deaths three people and injuries to 66.
According to deputy assistant director of Fire Service Headquarters Shajahan Shikder, three of the deceased died at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
He also said 39 of the injured are receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical Dhaka Medical College and Hospital,17 at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery , five at Monowara Hospital, three at Al Din Hospital and two at Holy Family Hospital.
“Overall, 66 victims of the Mogbazar blast are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals of the capital,” he added.
Meanwhile, Brig Gen Md Sazzad Hussain, director general of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said they are suspecting gas leakage or similar reasons as the cause of the explosion.
He said a five-member probe body has been formed over the incident.
“The committee has been asked to submit a report within 7 working days,” Md Sazzad added.
Of the earlier victims, two have been primarily identified.One of them was a 29-year-old radio jockey, Mustafizur Rahman, who hailed from Mymensingh.
