Madrasah boy dies after eating biscuits in Jashore
A 13-year-old boy died and six others of the same madrasah fell sick, after allegedly eating biscuits in Sharsha upazila of Jashore on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mahin, a student of Ashraful Madaris Qawmi Madrasah in Narayanpur.
Of the injured, Mamunur Rashid, 10, was admitted to Jashore General Hospital in critical condition.
Hafez Maulana Anarul Islam, a teacher of the Madrasa said that the students were sleeping after having lunch. In the afternoon, they fell sick after eating biscuits brought by a student's guardian.

Later, the injured were taken to the Upazila Health Center where doctors declared Mahin dead on arrival, said Mamun Khan, officer in charge (OC) of Sharsha Police Station.
The body has been sent to Jashore General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said the OC, adding that the cause behind the death will be known after an investigation.

Rohingya father ‘kills self’ after ‘poisoning’ 3 kids in Cox’s Bazar; 1 child dies
A man and his minor daughter died as he allegedly swallowed poison after feeding it to his three children at Shahparir Dwip in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Md Anwar, a Rohingya fisherman who came to Bangladesh from Myanmar 10 years ago and his daughter Sumayia,7.
Two other children- Mahiya,4, and Jabed, 2- were admitted to a hospital in a critical condition.
Quoting local people, Ward No. 9 member of Sabrang Union Abdus Salam said Anwar had a quarrel with his wife on Saturday afternoon and she went to her father’s home leaving Anwar and the children.

Anwar threatened her of committing suicide when she left.
Being informed by locals, police recovered the bodies of Anwar and Sumaiya on Sunday morning and took two other children to a hospital.

SI Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shahpari Island Police outpost, said two bodies were recovered and sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Brazil soccer fan in Cox’s Bazar takes poison
With the excitement running high over the Copa America final, a soccer fan took poison at North Chakmarkul in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Sunday after Brazil’s loss to Argentina.
Police said the Brazil fan, Mohammad Kamal, 20, son of Amir Hossain, is now undergoing treatment in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.

Locals said Kamal, a big fan of Brazil soccer team, was watching the Copa America Final 2021 in the morning.
As Argentina clinched the title after beating Brazil 1-0 in the final, Kamal got upset and took poison in a bid to kill himself.

Dr Efazul Haque, medical officer of Ramu Upazila Health Complex, said Kamal was first taken to the upazila health complex in an unconscious state and then referred to Sadar Hospital for better treatment after clearing his stomach.
