Attack on doctor: Medical services at Khulna hospitals hampered as physicians go on 24hr work abstention
Medical services at all government and private hospitals in Khulna district have been hampered since this morning as doctors went on a 24-hour work abstention protesting the attack on a fellow physician.
The doctors at outpatient departments of government hospitals and at private hospitals went on work abstention from 6 am today and will continue till 6 am tomorrow.
On February 25, Dr Sheikh Nishat Abdullah, head of Burn and Plastic Surgery Department of Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital was physically assaulted, allegedly by a patient’s relatives including Assistant Sub-inspector Naim posted in Satkhira district police, at a nursing home in Sheikhpara of Khulna city during surgery.
Protesting the attack, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Khulna decided to observe 24-hour work abstention from this morning to Thursday morning.

Dr Sheikh Baharul Alam, president of BMA Khulna unit, announced the work abstention programme while speaking at a press briefing at Kazi Azharul Haque Auditorium on Tuesday.
While reading out the statement, Dr Baharul also demanded the arrest of the attackers.

16 more die of Covid at Khulna hospitals
Sixteen more people have died of Covid-19 at four different hospitals in Khulna in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Thursday.
Seven died at Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital, three at Shahid Sheikh Abu Naser Hospital, one in the Covid unit of Khulna General Hospital and five at Gazi Medical College Hospital, according to the officials.

Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital nodal officer Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar said that seven patients have died at the hospital in the past 24 hours.
Besides, 126 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. "Of them, 46 are receiving treatment in the red zone, 48 in the yellow zone, 19 in the intensive care unit and 13 in the HDU," said Dr Suhas.

Dr Prakash Debnath, spokesman for Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialised Hospital, said that three people have died at the hospital in the past 24 hours. "Some 42 patients are being treated at the hospital and of them, 10 are in the ICU."
Dr Gazi Mizanur Rahman, owner of the private Gazi Medical College Hospital, said that 75 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. "Of them, eight are being treated in the intensive care unit and nine in the HDU."

Khulna General Hospital's corona unit spokesman Kazi Abu Rashed said that one Covid patient has died at the hospital in the past 24 hours. “Currently, 40 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital, including nine who were admitted since Wednesday."

11 more die of Covid at Khulna hospitals
Eleven more people have died of Covid-19 at two hospitals in Khulna in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Saturday.
Ten of them were confirmed Covid-19 patients, while the remaining one exhibited symptoms of the virus, the officials said.
Of them, seven died at Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital and four at Gazi Medical College Hospital.
Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital nodal officer Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar said that seven people have died at the hospital in the past 24 hours.

Besides, 200 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 136 are receiving treatment in the red zone, 24 in the yellow zone and 20 in the intensive care unit, said Dr Suhas.
Some 28 people were admitted to the hospital during this 24-hour period and 29 discharged, he said.

19 more Covid patients die at Khulna hospitals
Nineteen more people have died of Covid-19 at four different hospitals in Khulna in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Thursday.
While 15 of the patients tested positive for Covid, the remaining showed symptoms of the virus, the officials said.

Of them, 12 died at Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital, one at the Covid unit of Khulna General Hospital, two at the private Gazi Medical College Hospital and four at Shahid Sheikh Abu Naser Hospital.
Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital's nodal officer Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar said that 12 people have died at the hospital in the past 24 hours.
Besides, 195 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 134 are receiving treatment in the red zone, 21 in the yellow zone and 20 in the intensive care unit, said Dr Suhas.

Some 33 people have been admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours. During the period, 20 people were discharged from the hospital post-recovery, he said.
Dr Gazi Mizanur Rahman, owner of Gazi Medical College Hospital, said 113 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Some 14 people have been admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours and 13 discharged.

Kazi Abu Rashed, spokesman for the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital, said 12 people have been admitted to the medical facility in the past 24 hours and 11 patients discharged after recovery.
Dr Chandra Debnath Shekhar, spokesman for Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialised Hospital, said that 44 patients are currently being treated at the hospital and of them 10 are in the ICU.

Covid-19: 17 more die at 4 Khulna hospitals
Seventeen more people have died of Covid-19 at four hospitals in Khulna in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Monday.
Twelve of the patients tested Covid-19 positive while 5 showed symptoms of the virus, the officials said.

14 more covid patients die in Khulna
Fourteen people have died of Covid-19 at three different hospitals in Khulna district in 24 hours till Sunday morning, health officials said.
While eight people died at the dedicated Covid facility of Khulna Medical College and Hospital, two succumbed to the virus at private Gazi Medical College and Hospital and four died at the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital.

Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital's nodal officer Dr Suhas Ranjan Haldar said six of the eight people died of Covid-19 while two died after showing Covid symptoms.
Besides, 193 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Of them, 121 are receiving treatment in the red zone, 36 in the yellow zone, 19 in the ICU (intensive care unit), and 17 in HDU (high deficiency unit), said Dr Suhas.

Some 37 people were admitted to the hospital during the 24-hour period, while 32 were discharged from the hospital, he said.
An official at Gazi Medical College and Hospital said two people have died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. "Besides, some 134 people are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital," he said.

Kazi Abu Rashed, spokesman for the corona unit of Khulna General Hospital, said 20 people were admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours while 21 patients were discharged after their recovery.
