Mother, daughter found dead in Thakurgaon
Police recovered the decomposed body of a 45-year-old woman and her daughter from their house at Madarganj in Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon district on Monday night.
The deceased were identified as Samila Rani, wife of Jagadish Chandra Roy and her daughter Shapla Rani, 18 of the village.
Quoting local people, Deen Mohammad, sub-inspector of Bhulli Police Station, said Shamila along with her physically challenged daughter Shapla used to live at the house as her husband lives with his second wife in a separate house.
Nani Chandra, a neighbour of Samila, said the mother and daughter had not been seen outside their home for several days.
Missing child’s body recovered in Joypurhat
On Monday, a field worker from a local NGO visited the house and called out to Samila but received no response.
When locals peeped through the window after a long wait they found the bodies of the mother and daughter lying on the floor.
Police were informed and recovered the decomposed bodies by breaking open the door at night.
Police said the woman and her daughter might have died from electrocution.
The exact cause of death will be confirmed once autopsy report is available, police said.

Missing child’s body recovered in Joypurhat
Police have recovered the body of a third grader three days after she went missing in Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat.
The deceased was identified as Tasnia Akter, daughter of mason Ershad Ali of Shalban village and student of Sunrise Pre-Cadet School at Bottoli Bazar.
Her body was found in a sack inside a cowshed at the house of her neighbor Ekramul Haque on Friday evening, said Khetlal Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Karim.
Police arrested two women—Kumkum Begum, wife of Ekramul and his aunt-in-law Anjuara Begum while Ekramul managed to flee.
Woman’s hanging body recovered at Dhaka’s Chawkbazar
Police and locals said Tasnia went missing on Wednesday evening and her father filed a general diary (GD) with Khetlal Police Station the next day.
On Friday, locals detected a foul smell coming from Ekramul’s cowshed and later found the body of the girl in a sack.
Police were informed and later they recovered it.
OC Abdul Karim said the body was sent to Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The motive behind the killing is yet to be known, he added.

2 bodies recovered from car at Sirajul Islam Medical College parking lot
Police on Monday recovered two bodies from a private car at Dr Sirajul Islam Medical College and Hospital parking lot in the capital’s Mouchak area.
DMP spokesperson Deputy Commissioner ( media) Mohammad Talebur Rahman said the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Wife's body recovered from flat shared with absconding husband
Hospital sources said the car entered the parking lot around 5:30 am on Saturday.
Security guards said a patient was inside the vehicle.
As the car did not leave the parking zone for two days security guards checked the matter on Monday afternoon and found the bodies inside.
On information, police recovered the bodies.

17-year-old boy’s body recovered in Munshiganj
Police recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj on Monday.
The body was discovered hanging in a room at the house of Zainal Sheikh, located near Sidweshwari Bazar in Tongibari upazila. Md Mahidul Islam, the officer-in-charge of Tongibari Police Station, confirmed the matter.
The deceased, identified as Siam, was the son of Shafiqul Islam from Hirakanda village in Kalmakanda upazila, Netrokona.
17-year-old body drowns in Cox’s Bazar beach
Siam's mother, Sulada Begum, stated that he was mentally unstable. It is believed that Siam locked the room and hanged himself with a rope when no one was watching.
He was rushed to the upazila health complex, where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead.
The body was recovered following reports from the scene. As the family raised no complaints, the body was handed over to them.

Police recover body of a caretaker in Uttara
Police recovered the body of a caretaker from the ground floor bathroom of a building in the city’s Uttara on Sunday.
The victim, identified as Subal Pal, 50, had been working as the caretaker of the building at Plot no-10, Road No-10 under Uttara Sector-3 for last 10 years.

Being informed, a team of Uttara West Police Station went to the spot and recovered the body at around 8:15 am. The caretaker's hands and legs were tied by plastic and stabbed injuries were found in the neck and right ear, said SI Yousuf Ali of Uttara West Police Station.
After the legal process, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

The preliminary investigation revealed that unidentified people had entered the house, tied his hands and feet with a plastic rope and stabbed him in the right ear and neck. Details will be known after receiving the autopsy report, Yosuf said.
