Covid-19: Bangladesh registers 8 more deaths, 166 fresh cases
Though the coronavirus pandemic has eased in Bangladesh, it killed eight more people and infected 166 others in 24 hours till Saturday morning.
The daily-case positivity rate declined to 1.25 per cent from Friday’s 1.71 per cent.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 13,240 samples, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the fresh numbers, the Covid-19 fatalities reached 27,862 while the caseload climbed to 1,569,328, according to DGHS.

Among the deceased, six were men and two were women.
However, the mortality rate rose to 1.78 per cent from Friday’s 1.77 per cent.
Also, the recovery rate stood at 97.69 per cent with the recovery of 181 more patients during the period.
Mass vaccination
Bangladesh on Thursday launched the second phase of its special nationwide mass vaccination drive, aiming to vaccinate 80 lakh people with the second shot in a day.
The 9am to 3pm vaccination drive was part of the special campaign that was first unveiled on September 27 to mark Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 75th birthday.
On September 28, the first phase of the special nationwide mass vaccination drive was launched.

Bangladesh reports 7 more Covid deaths, 305 fresh cases
Covid-19 killed seven more people and infected 305 more in 24 hours till Friday morning.
The daily-case positivity rate increased to 1.71 per cent from Thursday’s 1.50 per cent.

The fresh cases were detected after testing 17,811 samples, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the fresh numbers, the Covid-19 fatalities reached 27,847 while the caseload climbed to 15,69,162 in Bangladesh, according to the DGHS.
Among the latest deaths, four were men and three women.

The mortality rate slightly increased to 1.78 from that of Thursday’s 1.77 per cent.
The recovery rate decreased slightly to 97.69 per cent, with 271 more patients getting cured.

Covid-19 in Bangladesh: 31 more die, 1,310 patients infected
Covid-19 in Bangladesh claimed 31 more lives and infected 1,310 others in 24 hours till Tuesday morning, showing a slight increase in the number of fatalities and cases compared to the previous day.
On Monday, the country logged 25 Covid deaths and 1,212 cases.
On Sunday, Bangladesh logged 21 deaths which is the lowest in four months.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 9,186 samples.
The daily case positivity rate rose to 4.49 percent from Monday’s 4.36 percent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this, the daily case positivity rate of Covid-19 in the country remained below 5 percent for the eighth consecutive day.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), if the daily-case positivity rate remains at 5 percent or below for 14 days is considered to be safe for mass unlocking.
The fresh numbers took the total fatalities to 27,470 while the caseload mounted to 1,553,837, said the DGHS.
However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 percent.
The recovery rate remained unchanged at 97.43 percent with the recovery of 1,195 more patients during the period.
So far, 1,513,876 people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added.

Covid-19 in Bangladesh: 35 more die, case positivity rate drop to 6.04 pc
Bangladesh witnessed 35 more Covid-related deaths with 1,190 fresh cases in 24 hours till Saturday morning, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
It is lowest death toll from Covid in three months. The country recorded the same number of fatalities on Wednesday.
The new cases were detected after testing 19,668 samples which again declined the daily case positivity rate to 6.04 per cent from Friday’s 6.49 per cent, said the DGHS.

The case positivity rate fell to 5.98 per cent on Thursday which was lowest of the country in around six months.

Covid-19: Daily case positivity rate drops to 13.77%
Bangladesh, currently seeing a downtrend of Covid-19 cases, detected 4,698 fresh cases in 34, 111sample tests in the last 24 hours on Thursday when case positivity rate dropped to 13.77%
The country last reported 13.39% daily case positivity rate on June 11.
Besides, 102 more deaths were reported during the 24 hours period according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The fresh numbers took the country’s death tally to 25,729 and caseload to 1,482,628.
