Chattogram Challengers secured a convincing eight-wicket win over Sylhet Strikers in the 13th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Chasing a target of 138, Chattogram comfortably reached 138/2 in 17.4 overs, with 14 balls to spare.

Khulna Tigers clinched an easy win defeating the Chattogram Challengers by 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare in the 4th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 on Saturday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Chattogram Challengers, batting first, faced early setbacks but managed to post a competitive total of 121 in their allotted 20 overs on the tricky surface of Mirpur.

BPL 2023: Victorians Continue Winning Streak with a 6-Wicket Win Over Challengers
The Comilla Victorians triumphed over the Chattogram Challengers by six wickets on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The victory marked the seventh consecutive win for Comilla Victorians.
Chattogram Challengers won the toss and elected to bat first, but their innings was hampered by early dismissals of Mehedi Maruf and Khawaja Nafay, who suffered a duck and scored 2 runs, respectively.
Afif Hossain and Usman Khan stepped up for the Challengers with strong performances. Afif scored 66 runs off 49 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Usman made a contribution of 52 runs off 41 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Despite their efforts, the Chattogram Challengers only managed to post a score of 156/7 in their 20 overs.
Tanvir Islam and Hasan Ali took two wickets each for the Challengers.
Comilla Victorians got off to a strong start in their response, with their openers setting the tone for the rest of the innings.

Mohammad Rizwan played a key role in the victory, scoring 61 runs off 47 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Mosaddek Hossain also put on a reliable performance, finishing the match with an unbeaten 37 runs off 27 balls, hitting 3 fours and a six.
The Comilla Victorians secured their victory, scoring 157/4 in 19 overs.
Despite efforts from bowlers Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Ziaur Rahman, who took two wickets each, the rest of the Chattogram Challengers' bowlers failed to make a significant impact.

BPL: Sylhet regain top spot beating Chattogram
The Sylhet Strikers maintained their dominance in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as they secured a decisive victory over the Chattogram Challengers on Saturday, winning by a comfortable margin of seven wickets and reclaiming the top spot in the points table.
Chattogram Challengers batted first and posted a challenging total of 174/6 in their 20 overs. Mehedi Maruf was the top scorer for the team, making 52 runs off 40 balls, with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Shuvagata Hom also contributed a valuable 54 runs off 29 balls, remaining not out.

Sylhet's bowlers, Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir, were the most successful, taking 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In response, Sylhet Strikers achieved the target of 175 runs in 18 overs, losing only 3 wickets in the process. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Ryan Burl were the top scorers for the team, scoring 60 and 41 runs respectively.
Shanto's innings included 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Ryan Burl hit 4 fours and 3 sixes. Chattogram Challengers' Vijayakanth Viyaskanth took 2 wickets, dismissing Towhid Hridoy and Ryan Burl.
In the end, Sylhet Strikers comfortably won the match by 7 wickets, thanks to some impressive batting performances. The win helped them to secure the top spot on the points table.
After nine matches, Sylhet now have 14 points from seven wins. They will play two more matches in the league phase of the event.

BPL 2023: Rangpur Riders get back to winning ways
The Rangpur Riders secured their third win of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2023, with a 55-run victory over the Chattogram Challengers on Monday in Dhaka.
BPL has made its return to Dhaka after a long stint in Chattogram. During this phase in Dhaka, a total of four matches will be played before the league moves on to Sylhet.
The Challengers won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Riders posted a challenging total of 179/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
Opener Mohammad Naim got off to a steady start, scoring 34 runs off 29 balls, but the real star of the innings was middle-order batsman Shoaib Malik, who smashed an unbeaten 75 off 45 balls, including five fours and five sixes. Azmatullah Omarzai also contributed with a quick-fire 42 off 24 deliveries.
For the Challengers, Mehedi Hasan Rana picked up three wickets conceding 39 runs while Shuvagata Hom took two wickets.
The Challengers got off to a poor start in response, losing opener Usman Khan for 4 in the first over. Khawaja Nafay and Tawfique Khan also fell cheaply, leaving the Challengers in a precarious position at 21/3 in the third over.

However, a valiant 52-run knock by skipper Shuvagata and a quick-fire 24 runs from Ziaur Rahman kept the Challengers in the hunt, but in the end, it wasn't enough as they fell short by 55 run, scoring 124 losing all wickets in 16.34 overs.
Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers for the Riders, taking 3 wickets for 17 runs in his 4 overs, while Rakibul Hasan scalped two wickets.
Despite bowling a couple of overs while his team was fielding, Afif Hossain was unable to bat for the Challengers. A Challengers source has claimed that he fell ill during the break in between innings.
Riders now have 3 wins and 3 losses from their six games played, while Challengers have just 2 wins to go with 5 defeats after seven games played.

BPL 2023: Comilla break out of cycle of defeat in fourth match
Comilla Victorians earned their first win of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in their fourth match, defeating home team Chattogram Challengers by six wickets Monday.
Liton Das, who scored 40 off 22 balls with four fours and three sixes, led the charge for Comilla. Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Mohammed Rizwan also scored 37 off 35 balls.
Choosing to bat first, Chattogram managed to post 135-8 in 20 overs.

Chattogram captain Shuvagata Hom top scored 37 runs off 23 deliveries. Max O'Dowd and Afif Hossain scored 24 and 29, respectively.
Tanvir Islam, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat and Khushdil Shah bagged two wickets each for Comilla.
In reply, Liton and Rizwan made a 50-plus-run opening stand that set a solid foundation for Comilla, who eventually won the match with 15 balls to play.
It was the third defeat for Chattogram in five matches in the event.

BPL 2023 Chattogram phase begins Friday
The Chattogram phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will take off Friday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Home team Chattogram Challengers will take on Fortune Barishal at 2pm.
In the initial phase of the league, eight matches were held in Dhaka. Sylhet Strikers, led by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, have topped the points table with eight points from four wins from as many matches.
Tickets for the Chattogam phase are now available. Spectators can collect tickets from Thursday. Also, ticket booths will remain open on match days.
Seven teams are participating in this year's BPL.

After the Chattogram phase, the BPL will be back in Dhaka for a two-day phase before an eight-match phase in Sylhet. After that, the competition will return to Dhaka for the final phase.
The final of this year's BPL will be played in the capital on February 16.

BPL 2023: Usman ton powers Chattogram to nine-wicket win over Khulna
Pakistan's Usman Khan smashed his first T20 century to help Chattogram Challengers get their first victory in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) after defeating Khulna Tigers on Monday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka's Mirpur.
Batting first, Khulna Tigers posted 178 runs, riding on the century of another Pakistani, Azam Khan.
In response, Usman upstaged Azam to power Chattogram to a nine-wicket win. He remained unbeaten on 103 off 58 balls, with five fours and three sixes.
Chasing 179, Usman and Max O'Dowd shared an opening stand of 141 runs.

Nahidul Islam broke the partnership, but it was too late for Khulna.
Earlier, Azam hit the first ton of the BPL 2023, helping Khulna post 178 for five with his unbeaten 109 off 57 balls.
Azam came to the crease as the number four batter after Khulna lost two wickets for only 12 runs.
On the way to his first T20 century, Azam hit nine fours and eight sixes. His previous best in T20 was 88.
Earlier, Khulna played their first match against Dhaka Dominators, which they lost by six wickets.

BPL 2023: Sylhet Strikers make a flying start winning a low-scoring match
Sylhet Strikers won the first match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) beating Chattogram Challengers by eight wickets on Friday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The match was scheduled to take place at 2:30 pm, but it kicked off a half hour earlier - a further testament to the subpar management of the BPL.
Sylhet won the toss and sent Chattogrma to bat first.
Chattogram had a disappointing start as Mehedi Maruf was run out for 11 in the 3rd over and Darwish Rasooli, their Afghan recruit, was out for a mere 3 runs in the 4th. Their hopes of a major score were pinned on Al-Amin, but he too fell for just 18 runs. Skipper Shuvagata Hom's single run only added to their woes, further worsening the situation.
But, Afif Hossain got the innings back on track with 25 runs off 23 balls with 3 fours. Unmukt Chand couldn't make a big score as he was out for 5 runs.
Mrittunjoy Chowdhury added 3 runs while Nihaduzzaman scored 8 runs before getting out. Malinda Pushpakumara and Mehedi Hasan Rana remained unbeaten and added 6 and 2 runs respectively. At the end of 20 overs, Chattogram Challengers made 89 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
For Sylhet, Rejaur Rahman Raja bagged four wickets conceding only 14 runs in four overs.

In reply, Sylhet Strikers had to do better on a difficult Mirpur surface to take the lead. They started well, with Najmul Hossain Shanto making 43 runs off 41 balls.
Colin Ackermann was out for 1 run but Zakir Hasan made a quick 27 runs off 21 balls to set up a winning total. Mushfiqur Rahim remained not out on 6 runs as Sylhet Strikers achieved their target in 12.3 overs.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the former Bangladesh captain, made a return to competitive cricket after an eight-month hiatus, captaining the Sylhet Strikers in this edition of the BPL.

BPL 2022: Victorians need 149 to book a place in final
Comilla Victorians, the two-time winner of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), is 149 runs away from the final of the ongoing edition of the Bangabandhu BPL.
They restricted Chattogram Challengers to 148 for 10 in 19.1 overs in the second Qualifier of the BPL on Wednesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the highest runs getter for Chattogram with his 38 from 44 balls with three fours and two sixes while Akbar Ali posted 33 off 20 balls with two fours and two sixes.

Will Jacks and Zakir Hasan made a good start to the innings when they posted 31 in 3.3 overs before losing Jacks to Shohidul Islam for 16 off 9 balls with two fours and one six. Zakir made 20 off 19 balls with four fours. He was set well before falling prey to Moeen Ali.
But the middle-order of Chattogram failed to do well as Chadwick Walton, Afif Hossain and Shamim Hossain fell for 2, 10 and a duck respectively. Zakir and Shamim were removed by Moeen off two consecutive deliveries.
Coming to bat at nine, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury posted 15 with two sixes before falling to Shohidul Islam after Abu Hider Rony takes a great catch at the deep.
For Comilla, Moeen Ali scalped three wickets conceding 20 runs in three overs while Shohidul also bagged three off 33 runs in three overs.
Now, the Victorians need to score 149 to march to the final where Fortune Barishal have already booked a place beating Comilla in the first Qualifier. The final will be played on February 18 at Sher-e-Bangla.
