Ctg boy’s body recovered 3 days after falling into drain
The body of a 10-year-old boy, who had gone missing after falling into a roadside drain at Sholoshahar in Chattogram city on Monday, was recovered from another drain in Muradpur area on Thursday.
Babu Mia, sub-inspector of Panchlaish Police Station, said local people spotted the floating body of Kamal in the drain, two kilometers off the spot from where he had gone missing, around 11:45 am and informed police.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.
According to local people, Kamal and another boy Rakib, 14, fell into the drain while crossing the area amid a drizzle.
Rakib managed to come out but Kamal drowned.
Kamal’s father did not inform the matter to fire service or police instantly as he is mentally sick.
Earlier on September 27, university student Shehrin Mahmud Sadia died after falling into an open drain in Agrabad Badamtali area of the port city.

On December 5, the High Court issued a rule questioning why authorities concerned will not give compensation of Tk 10 crore to the family of university student Shehrin Mahbub Sadia.
Besides, Saleh Ahmed, 50, a pedestrian went missing falling into a drain in Muradpur area of the port city on August 25.

Man rescued alive from Dhaka drain after 6 hrs
A 40-year-old man who fell into an open drain at Kalshi in the city’s Mirpur area has been rescued after six hours.

The identity of the mentally ill man cannot be known immediately.
Two diving units of Fire Service started a rescue operation at 9am on Thursday and finally rescued him around 3pm, said Md Raihan, station officer (Media) of Fire Service Civil Defense Headquarters.

20-yr-old student dies after falling into open drain in Chattogram
A 20-year-old college student returning home with her uncle died after falling into an open drain in the Agrabad Badamtali area of the port city on Monday night, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Shehrin Mahmud Sadia, a student of Sadarghat Islamia Degree College and a resident of Halishohor in Chattogram city.

Eye-witnesses said Sadia slipped and fell into the roadside drain around 10pm when she and her uncle were returning home after buying a pair of eye glasses from the local market. It was drizzling at the time.
Her uncle immediately jumped into the drain but could not find her, said Double Mooring police sub-inspector Arnab Barua.

Newton Das, deputy director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that on information, divers rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
Around 3am on Tuesday, Sadia's body was found, officials said.
