The body of a 10-year-old boy, who had gone missing after falling into a roadside drain at Sholoshahar in Chattogram city on Monday, was recovered from another drain in Muradpur area on Thursday. Babu Mia, sub-inspector of Panchlaish Police Station, said local people spotted the floating body of Kamal in the drain, two kilometers off the spot from where he had gone missing, around 11:45 am and informed police. According to local people, Kamal and another boy Rakib, 14, fell into the drain while crossing the area amid a drizzle. Rakib managed to come out but Kamal drowned.   Kamal’s father did not inform the matter to fire service or police instantly as he is mentally sick. Earlier on September 27, university student Shehrin Mahmud Sadia died after falling into an open drain in Agrabad Badamtali area of the port city. A 40-year-old man who fell into an open drain at Kalshi in the city’s Mirpur area has been rescued after six hours. A 20-year-old college student returning home with her uncle died after falling into an open drain in the Agrabad Badamtali area of the port city on Monday night, officials said. The deceased was identified as Shehrin Mahmud Sadia, a student of Sadarghat Islamia Degree College and a resident of Halishohor in Chattogram city.
