Covid kills 15 more in Bangladesh as positivity rate stands at 31.98%
Bangladesh reported 15 more Covid-linked deaths with 15,807 fresh cases in 24 hours till Thursday morning.
The daily positivity rate rose again to 31.98 per cent from Wednesday’s 31.64 per cent after testing 49,425 samples, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The country logged its highest daily positivity rate of 32.55% on July 24 last year reporting 6,780 cases and 195 deaths.
On Wednesday, the country reported 17 more Covid-linked deaths and 15,527 fresh cases.
The fresh numbers took the country’s total fatalities to 28,288 while the caseload mounted to 1,747,311 on Thursday.

Among the new deceased, 10 were women and five women.
Eight cases were reported in Dhaka division while three in Chattogram, two in Rajshahi and one each in Barishal and Rangpur divisions.

Covid kills 10 more, infects another 339 in Bangladesh
Covid-19 in Bangladesh claimed 10 more lives and infected another 339 people in 24 hours till Monday morning.
The numbers of both death and infection marked a slight fall from Sunday when 16 Covid-related deaths and 314 cases were reported in 24 hours.
The daily-case positivity rate increased slightly to 1.80 per cent today from Monday’s 1.74 per cent.

With the fresh numbers, the Covid fatalities reached 27,778 while the caseload climbed to 1,565,827 in Bangladesh, according to the Directorate General of the Health services (DGHS).
Of the latest deceased, four were men and six were women.
On the 41st epidemiological week of pandemic from October 11 to October 17, 46 of the 80 deceased Covid patients had comorbidities.
Comorbidity means the simultaneous presence of two or more diseases or medical conditions in a patient.
The comorbidity rate in Covid related deaths in the country for the last seven days is 57.5 per cent.

However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent compared to the same period.
Besides, the recovery rate rose slightly to 97.61 per cent, with 509 more patients getting cured during the period.
So far, 1,528,371 people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added.

Covid kills 18, infects 794 more in Bangladesh
Covid-19 claimed 18 more lives in Bangladesh with 794 new cases being detected in 24 hours till Monday morning.
On Sunday, the country saw 18 Covid-related deaths and 617 cases.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 24,928 samples which increased the daily case positivity rate to 3.19 per cent from Sunday’s 2.90 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The daily case positivity rate in the country remained below 5 percent for the 12th consecutive day.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), if the daily-case positivity rate remains at 5 per cent or below for 14 days it is considered to be safe for mass unlocking.
The daily case positivity rate in Bangladesh reached its peak 32.55 percent on July 24 this year.
The fresh numbers took the total fatalities to 27,591 while the caseload mounted to 15,58,758, said the DGHS.
However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 percent.

The recovery rate slightly increased to 97.49 percent with the recovery of 834 more patients during the 24-hour period.
So far, 15,19,588 people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added.
