Swecchasebok leader succumbs to injuries in Bagura
A Swecchasebok leader in Bagura who sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two factions of the outfit earlier this month, succumbed to his injuries on Monday night.
The deceased was Nazmul Hasan alias Orange, 28, the assistant secretary (cultural affairs) of the district Shecchasebok League, and son of Rezaul Karim of the city's Malgram Dabtala area.
He passed away at 11pm on Monday at the intensive care unit of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH), said Selim Reza, officer-in-charge of Bagura Sadar police station.
Meanwhile, another accused in the case, Khairul Islam, 48, was arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion from the Fapor area at 3am on Tuesday, RAB-12 said in a statement.

So far, two people have been arrested in connection with the clash, said OC Selim. Earlier another person, named Tipu, was held.
On January 2, Orange was shot while another activist Minhaz Hossain Apel, 24, was attacked in the Malgram area of the city by members of the rival faction of the organization for gaining dominance in the area.
The day next, a case was filed at the Bagura Sadar police station, following a complaint from Orange’s wife against 12 people, including five unnamed.

Meanwhile, more cops have been deployed in Malgram Dabtala and Dakkhinpara areas following Orange’s death to avoid any unwanted situation, said OC Selim.
His body will be handed over to the family after an autopsy, he added.

Teen dies as Dhaka-bound bus hits bike in Bogura
A teenager died while another person riding pillion sustained injuries when their bike was hit by a bus on the Dhaka-Bagura highway in the district's Shahjahanpur upazila late Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Shekh Md Sibgatullah,16, a Class X student of Bogura Cantonment Public School and College.
Hasan Ali (20), the pillion rider, is being treated for injuries at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College.

The accident occurred at 10.40pm near the Aria Bazar Dakkhin area when the two were on their way to Sherpur from Bogura on the bike. "The Dhaka-bound bus hit them from behind, leaving Sibgatullah dead on spot," said Ariful Islam, sub-inspector at the Shahjahanpur police station.
Locals rescued them to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, where the teenager was declared dead on arrival.

"No one has been arrested in connection with the accident," the officer said.

2 of a family among 3 die from electrocution in Bogura
Three people including a man and his nephew died after being electrocuted in Sherpur upazila of Bogura district on Monday morning.
The victims are Budu Chandra Bhuiyan(65), his nephew Palash Chandra Bhuiyan (35) and their neighbor Khitish Chandra Bhuiyan (30).

Witnesses said that Budu got electrocuted when he came in contact with an electric wire while cleaning his backyard in the morning.
The wire was connected to an illegally established temporary electric line for an adjacent Durga Puja temple, they added.
Palash, Khitish and four others got electrocuted too when they tried to save Budu.

The three died on the way while they were being taken to Upazila Health complex.
Among the survivors, a man named Rubel Chandra Bhuiyan is still undergoing treatment at the medical facility while the remaining two were sent home after giving first aid, said Sherpur police station Officer-in charge Shahidul Islam.
