Moulvibazar safari park project gets environmental clearance
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on Monday approved the feasibility study report for setting up Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park at Juri in Moulvibazar.
The approval was given at a meeting held with Environment Minister Md Shahab Uddin in the chair.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said a large portion of the proposed area for the safari park has illegally been occupied.

“If a safari park is built here, no one will be able to enter illegally and thus the hills and biodiversity will be protected,” he said.
The initiative has been taken for necessary allocation for the relocation of 37 families living illegally in the proposed 270-acre safari park area of Jorichora and Lalchara villages of Lathitila, he said.
The minister directed the officials concerned to complete the master plan and the DPP preparation for the park to be set up after the name of the Father of the Nation.
