Construction worker electrocuted in Patuakhali
A construction worker was electrocuted to death and four others suffered injuries at Patuakhali Science and Technology University on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Shafikur Rahman, 38.
The incident occurred around 10 pm when they went to the rooftop of the Climate Smart Agriculture building of the university.

Shafikur died after being taken to the hospital; four other workers were transferred to the burn unit of Sher-e Bangla Medical College and Hospital.

Construction worker dies after falling off building in Dhaka
A 32-year-old worker died after falling off an under-construction building in the capital’s Bhasantek area Tuesday afternoon.
Md Julhas Mridha was the son of late Hamid Mridha, of Banakata area under Dohar police station in Dhaka.

Monir Hossain, a co-worker of the victim, said Julhas fell off the third floor of the 10-storey under-construction building in the Bhasanteke area while he was working, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where physicians pronounced him dead upon arrival, said Md Bachhu Mia, inspector of the hospital police outpost.

The body was kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy, he added.

Construction worker dies after fall from 18th floor of Motijheel skyscraper
A construction worker at a high-rise building in the capital's Motijheel fell 18 stories to his death Saturday, police said.
The deceased, 22, was identified as Md Ripon from Begumganj upazila of Noakhali.
Ripon fell from the 18th floor of Meghna Life Insurance Building near Shapla Chattar while he was installing an aluminium board around 2:30pm, Syed Ali, sub-inspector (SI) of Motijheel police station, said.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition and was declared dead upon arrival.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, the SI added.

Construction worker crushed under falling shaft of crane in Khulna
A construction worker was killed under the shaft of a malfunctioning crane at a construction site in Khulna’s Shantidham intersection area.
The deceased was identified as Md. Hafizul Nayeem, son of Mohammad Borhan Sheikh of Baintala village in Dumuria upazila, said officer-in-charge Hasan Al Mamun of Khulna Police Station.
The accident occurred on Tuesday at around 6 pm during the casting of rooftop construction of the building.
SI Md. Oliur of Khulna Police Station, said deceased Hafiz was working on the roof of a seven-storey building opposite the United Nations Children's Park in Shantidham with other workers.

During the work, the shaft of the mixer crane broke down and fell on Hafiz. His right leg and left arm were broken. The workers took him to the Khulna Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead, he said.
The body will be handed over to his family after an autopsy, he added.

Construction worker dies from electrocution in city
A construction worker died of electrocution in the city’s Natun Bazar area in Bhatara on Sunday evening.
The victim was identified as Md Limon, 25, son of Saiful Ali of Puti Nagraj village under Fulbari upazila of Kurigram district. He was residing in an under-construction building at Natun Bazar area.
The incident took place at an under-construction multi-storied building located on 100 Feet Road in Natun Bazar at around 6:00 pm.

Elder brother of the deceased, Rajibul Hasan, said that his younger brother Limon was working as a mason's assistant in an under construction 10-storey building in the 100 feet Road area of Natun Bazar.
When he tried to install an electric bulb on the third floor of the building, he fell unconscious due to electrocution as he touched a leak in the live wire at around 6:00 pm, said Rajibul, who is also working as a construction worker in the same building.
Limon was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 7.15 pm where the doctor on duty declared him dead after examination, Rajibul said.

Worker dies falling off city flyover
A construction worker died after falling off an under-construction flyover in the city’s Mirpur area on Friday.
The dead was identified as Alamgir Hossain, 30, of Nilphamari district. He was a labourer of the under-construction Kalshi flyover.

Co-worker Kazi Tanvir Hossain said Alamgir slipped off the flyover while tying rods of the pillars like every other day in the afternoon and received serious injuries on his head.
Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the doctor declared him dead, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.
The body has been kept in DMCH morgue for an autopsy, he added.

Dhaka e-way construction worker dies in freak accident
A 30-year-old construction worker died in a freak accident on an under-construction elevated expressway in the Tejgaon railway station area of Dhaka on Wednesday evening, police said on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hasan Mijhi, son of late Fazlur Rahman Mijhi of Bara Sundar village in Chandpur Sadar.

Mijhi sustained serious injuries while placing a girder (a support beam), said Md Shamim, a colleague who rushed him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). "He was declared dead on arrival by doctors at the hospital," he said.
Inspector Mohammad Bachchu Mia of the DMCH police camp, said the body was kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy.

2 die in Kushtia after inhaling toxic gas inside septic tank
Two construction workers died after inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank at Jugia Palpara in Kushtia on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sadek Bachchu, son of Chhamed Mandal of Paschim Gobindpur village in Mirpur upazila, and Manik, son of Ruhul of the same area.
Manik first got down into the septic tank in the house of Sadek's sister in the morning. When he failed to return, Sadeq entered the tank to check on him.
When both failed to return, Sadek's sister raised an alarm. Local residents pulled the duo out of the septic tank and rushed them to Kushtia General Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
Kushtia Model Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shawkat Kabir said the bodies have been sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
