Two crude bombs recovered from DU Arts building
Police recovered two crude bombs from a toilet of Dhaka University's Arts Faculty building on Monday (November 06, 2023) morning.
A bomb disposal unit of police recovered those from the toilet of 1106 No classroom of Arts building around 10.40 am.

Md. Ali Hossen, gateman of the Arts Building, said he noticed those two bomb-like objects around 10 am and immediately informed it to the proctor office.
Assistant proctor Prof Hasan Faruk confirmed the matter.

Crude bombs hurled at police vehicle in Dhaka's Uttara, JCD activist arrested
Police arrested a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activist after two crude bombs were thrown at a police vehicle at the House Building area of Dhaka’s Uttara on Sunday morning (November 05, 2023).
The arrestee was identified as GM Hasan, also former vice president of JCD's Gazipur city unit.

The incident took place in front of Pubali Bank in Uttara’s House Building area at around 7:30am.
Confirming the incident, Inspector (Operations) Partha Pratim Brahmachari of Uttara West Police Station, said miscreants threw two crude bombs targeting a police vehicle which was deployed in the area to tackle any untoward situation.
One of the crude bombs exploded upon impact.
Later, the law enforcers chased and arrested JCD activist involved in the attack, said Inspector Partha.

The unexploded crude bomb was recovered from the spot, he added.
Picketing and arson violence were reported across the capital since this morning amid the road, rail and waterways blockade for 48 hours called by BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties across the country.

Crude bombs explode in front of Natore BNP office: Police
Several crude bombs went off in front of Natore district unit BNP office at Alaipur on Saturday ahead of a rally called as part of the opposition party's nationwide programme.
Police said they recovered two live crude bombs from the spot. No one was injured.
BNP has called a countrywide rally on Saturday to press home their 10-point demand, including holding the next polls under a non-party neutral government and to protest against the arrest and harassment of party leaders and activists in ‘false cases'.

The explosions took place around 8:30 am when the party leaders and activists were preparing to bring out a procession.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered two unexploded crude bombs, said officer-in-charge of Natore Police Station Nasim Ahmed.

15 BNP men detained with crude bombs in C’nawabganj, say district police
Police are claiming to have apprehended 15 leaders and activists of the opposition BNP, and recovered 7 crude bombs from their possession while they were holding a ‘clandestine meeting’ on Tuesday night.
Chowdhury Jobayed Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Shibjanj police station, said acting on a tip off, they carried out a drive at a warehouse near the house of local BNP leader Ashraf Chairman in Ranihat area, when they came across the group holding a ‘secret meeting’, without specifying what made it so secret or whether any meeting that isn’t public is secret.

Police did however identify the meeting’s agenda as focused on carrying out subversive activities”.
The 15 BNP men were detained with seven crude bombs from the warehouse during the drive, he said.
A process was underway to file a case against the detainees, the OC added.
